I'm creating this to have a fun history of my truck. I've got a fairly built GTO, but never documented it in one thread...so I'll start that with my truck, and I'm starting with mod #1. I'll keep it updated as I go. It will be a slow build, considering I have quite a few other financial obligations and I'm far from rich! This is a DD and will not be some badass offroader. To be honest, I've never even gone offroading. Please...participate and offer opinions on what I should do. I appreciate outside input. Its always a help.

For starters, the day I brought her home, 3/23/15. 22 miles on the odometer, 11 of which were my test drive. I was going to get a DCSB SR5 and told myself I would buy if I could get them down to 27k. They gave me a great deal on the TRD Sport DCLB, Prerunner. Sticker of something like $32,800, negotiated to 29k. A couple grand more than I wanted, but for that I got the long bed, sport package, and nicer entune with navigation, so I think it was well worth it.

    Day one, 3/23/15:

As I said...this would be slow! Well issue #1 was my wife is 5'2"...she had to jump to get into the truck. The dealer refused to negotiate step bars into the deal. As it turns out, I don't think the factory ones would have helped her much. I did some research and settled on the n-fabs for a couple reasons:
    - They look badass
    - The step drops down more than most, making it easy for her to get into the truck

I noticed they hover around $350 brand new, and $250-$300 used. Well last week I stumbled upon a great deal. Jet had them listed for $260. On top of that, they offered a 20% off code for new users. I figured I had to pull the trigger. They were delayed a day in delivery, but I threw them on this morning. 3" main tube wheel to wheel n-fabs for $210...major score!:yay:

You can see I also threw on a sweet 'murica flag about a week after I bought it:oldglory:

At this point, thats it till probably tax time.

    FUTURE MODS:

    Suspension:
I only plan to level it right now. Its a 2wd and I take it up to the mountains for some snowboarding trips every year. Otherwise, its a DD and meant to make trips to Lowe's easy. I've contemplated a 3" lift/level, but I don't have a big need for it and it would only make life tougher for the wife lol.

I've been researching and I'm thinking some 5100's set to 0', with some OME 883 springs.

    Wheels/tires:

Undecided 16 inch wheels, black. In interested in the trail team wheels if I can snag them up. I want wheels that will sit about an inch further out, or I will use spacers. I prefer to avoid spacers. I'll likely go 265/75/16 in the Hankook ATM's. I had good experiences selling those and they look fairly aggressive.

    Lighting:

I hate the look of a retrofit kit. For mountain trips, I'll likely do a 20-30 inch LED bar mounted somewhere on the front end.

Thanks for reading, let me know what you think I should do!
