Between now and the end of the year I'm going to be working on the garage. To get started I'm adding an air compressor. Nothing to fancy but good enough to use around the home and some small tools. @j0shu4 for when we paint the truck after it's built.

I'm new at setting up the plumbing for the compressor so I just found a diagram online that will work for my needs. Picked up some black pipe and connectors.

Finished the air lines. 1/2" lines with 3 traps and 1/4" drops. A small filter/separator at the end. All I need to do is mount it on the wall and blow out the lines then install the filter/separator. If I ever upgrade to a larger compressor this plumbing should do just fine.

Even though I had a tundra housing I found this bad boy on Craigslist for 95.00. I couldn't pass up this deal. It's in great condition too. I'll also have a spare diff. Score!

@thefatkid, @Blackdawg, @Star-Lord, @Squeaky Penguin and any other 1st gen person that didn't come to mind.

So I've been having vibes since I got back from moab last year and just been dealing with it. Now it's getting worse and figure I start troubleshooting it with you guys. I really don't know what I'm doing so feel free to point out mistakes I might be doing.
What I want to get out of it, is see what a stock DC auto 4x4 Tacoma numbers are and compare to mine to try and match the stock drive train set up. Or if anyone else would has ideas that will help that would be great.

Note: I do have a AAL on the rear. No shims.

Here we go. I leveled my truck out the best I could. It was pretty much on 0 or 0.1 all around the bottom of the frame.

How many miles on the u joints and rear slip yoke? I'd look at those before going down the DS angles rabbit hole.

Every thing is all junk yard parts. I haven't checked them. I just threw everything on when I put the truck together. I still wouldn't know what to look for to see if that's the issue. Just make sure everything is tight right? Make sure there isn't any play?

Plus when I put everything togather I went off measurements of certian ponits on the truck when I lined everything up. Got the measurements off another DC 1st gen. everything was pretty close. Drove fine for a while but after getting the piss worked out if it in moab I've been noticeing the vibes.

Yup, Grab your 14mm's and put the DS out the check the u joints and Double cardan have no movement besides what it's meant to do. Also look for rock strikes, it may be bent.

I found this in the LTBS. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/drive-shaft-vibrations-solved-step-by-step.244535/

Oh another thing is when I press on the trottle the vibes are mild. However when I take my foot off the throttle you can really notice it a lot.

Yeah I've seen that. I get started reading it and then I see a squirrel. :anonymous: but before I compare to a 2nd gen I want feed back on a 1st gen numbers to see what I'm starting with. Because I could of set up my drive train wrong. I want to start there.

Plus that guy starts with a factory flange angle on the TC. I don't have that.

@TMFF All the u joints are tight. No loose bolts or nuts. Carrier bearing has a little play but not excessive.

The numbers won't mean anything unless you are trying to match output and pinion angles for single U-joint shafts.
Since you have a double cardon shaft, You want the rear pinion straight with the rear half of the driveshaft.
But like was suggested, maybe change the u-joints first.

So even though my u-joint's are nice and tight. I should take them apart and rebuild them first? ok..... I would like to compare the angles of my TC flange to another before that.

Lets make sure you are checking them right first. And again the numbers between different trucks sitting on different surfaces using degree finders in the wrong manner will get you nowhere.
When you check your u-joints for play, the vehicle needs to be in neutral and you should be able to rotate the shaft slightly with the play in the gears. If you check the u-joints with the vehicle in gear or resting in Park, the driveshaft/u-joints will always appear to be tight.
