If you compare from the last photos you can see how much I cut. I was trying to give the lower links a little more room for up travel. I’ll most likely not set bump that high but at least there is room for the link now. I also grinded the mount and ran a different bolt so the bottom of the mount is more flush.

A new tool came in. It’s pretty cool. I’m hoping it will help with notching the tube and minimize mistakes I’ll make.

Yeah I noticed that I notch better with a grinder then with my tube notcher. Figure I give it a shot. The tool is way cheaper then cost of tube screwed up.

I used a notcher for some of it, then it broke and I started using a grinder/chop saw combo and I liked it better. IMO a grinder is way faster than a notcher too, you still have to grind a tube after tube notching anyway, and if you miss by a small margin its a lot tougher to notch a little more than it is to grind a little more.

Yeah that’s exactly what I noticed. I reather take my time with grinder. Then be a little off with the notcher then I’m filling gaps that I don’t want to do with the cage. A bumper filling a gap isn’t that big of a deal. But a cage I want it all tight.

@3378jakesr5 I remember talking to Jake that he really liked some program that calculated where to do bends and notches, Think he said it really helped cut down on errors.

Seats showed up. Pretty happy with them. But the mounts are not up to par. I’m going to have to modify the mounts. The holes are not lining up. So I’m going to have to chop and re weld back together. I’ll post pics of them later.

Oh they are the right ones. I talked to Corey from Insain last night and show him the mounts. He ran into the same issue with toytec racetruck build. He told me what he did to fix it. Same idea as me. So I’m going to just fix them. No biggie for me. But just passing the word for others just in case.

So I decided I’m going to go with 16” and 18” shocks in the rear. To get more clearance. I’m cutting more of the mount off. I bet your wondering why I don’t just pull the mount. Well I stripped the nuts . Not going to deal with stripped nuts for a 1/2 clearance. That’s why I’m just cutting.
