Looks great! I would recommend simple memory foam, I’ve heard great things from other archaeologists who spend extended time camping out in the field. It’s going to be one of my next purchases, should be fairly cheap from Joann fabric or the equivalent crafts store. You might want a cover to make it dog resistant though.

Nice job with the handle, that was one of my oversights with my build, so now I will have to add straps at some point.

    gonna try this

might leave some room short so it fits on my full-wrap BedRug

I've got recovery gear; shovel, axe, likely waterport in the future
and big ass HiLift 60" I shoved on the pass side in a shortbed, with top end facing rear.
And unfortunately mounting brackets that extend farther down than I'd like, and farther down than other company ones.
Maybe they designed these (not naming names) to hide under a tonneau or not protrude...
To the point where now they look like they'd hit into a bed

So i'll try to get creative in repositioning, flipping things the other way up, to see if I can clear room

BamBed looks nice, but $500 vs $100...

No time or tools for sliding drawers; looking for something else quick and cheap to suffice; best idea I've seen so far is snowsleds

I hope the upholstery is an easy matter of buying the carpet, taking the parts outside, spraying them with 3M glue can, and slapping it on. Then trimming excess with scissors

Would be cool if there was dimensions posted but hey, should be easy enough and every design is different.
Gonna see if I can find my tape measure and take a basic blueprint of the bed
2x6 crossbeam in each slot I believe
    then 2 pieces of plywood

The key magic trick is if I can take a good enough measurement for plywood,
to have Home Depot rip it down the saw to that.
Maybe a bit short at the rear to avoid the whole curvature thing by bed stiffener hump, and keep the pieces basically straight rectangles
