I'm glad the skid did it's job. How bad was the driveshaft, and how long was the drive home in front wheel drive? :D

Luckily this big wheeling trip was the closest to home so far. I took the back roads and kept it in 2wd. I had to keep it below 45mph, and it took it took a couple hours to get home. It did end the fun a bit early though which sucks. I've got a high clearance bumper on order and want your edge trim stuff for the rear fenders (whatever it's called). I'll pm you

    Let's see those pictures!

Just order 20' of the edge trim so you'll be ready for dirty fives and the high clearance bumper. :D

Finally got back on the computer. First post updated.

This pic shows the bend a little better:

On a brighter side, the gas tank skid performed very well.

The drive-shaft is now re-tubed. I went with a 14 gauge tube (stock was 16 gauge). Also, I re-routed the exhaust crossover pipe with some old pipe sitting in a friend's yard, haha. It doesn't leak, and it's solid. I still need to remove the hump in the transfer case skid, and reinstall it.

@EddyRRT sent me a teaser picture of my bumper. I'm picking it up this weekend!

Figured this picture was worth posting. It took courage cutting on a 1 year old truck.

Hahaha scary huh? I know how you feel. I just recently built a HC rear bumper for my truck and mine is a 2013. When I went to cut the bedsides I sat there with a grinder in my hand before making the first cut contemplating if I was crazy or not haha! But once the grinder touched the metal I said "screw it, can't turn back now"

Thanks guys! It really only stung for the first 1/4". Truth is, I knew what was going to happen when I bought the truck (I just thought I'd wait a bit longer). I'm painting the bumper now and will post up some pics when done.

So, I was advised not to try to remove the fender flairs, because I would break the clips. I'm proud to say I broke zero clips. If you plan on removing the fender flairs, you should pull out the inner fenders first. If you pinch the clips from behind, they pop out with very little effort. Hope this helps save someone from having to order some new new clips.

It's on! Huge props to @EddyRRT at SOS for the quality of workmanship. The fit was so good, it made for a very easy install. The welds are so clean that it looks good with simple gloss black paint. The only issue I have now is that I really love the look with the plastic fenders off. The bumper is made to match up more with them on, so I think I'm going to cut the bumper and bring the sides in some.

That's awesome dude!! Tons more clearance. When I built my HC bumper I gained 8 inches more clearance than the stock bumper.

Haha, man I tried talking to that stupid ass campground and they are a total rip off, I'm done with them. Depending on when my gears and locker install is I might try to get to Potts or something late October/early November.

Thanks for trying! I knew it was a long shot. Really, I'm just looking foreword to another chance to get together with some "locals" again. Had a great time last time.

Dang, I can't wait till it cools down enough to camp again. I can take the heat during the day, but I hate hot nights. Soon....:)

Just ordered up a full set of @KB Voodoo tailgate and side rail caps! I've been looking at them for a while. His products look like they are very well built. They should really help with my heavy rack setup.
