Okay, so preparing for the wedding has wiped out all my time and money, haha. The truck has been on standby. I do need to fix the topping out issue in the front suspension though but on the cheap. Does anyone have experience with, or an educated opinion on these from Wheelers Off-road: image.jpg
I want to remove the OME 886 coils and reinstall my old 887's to soften the ride and gain back some up-travel. These spacers look like a good way keep most of the ground clearance while letting the suspension top out at a higher point. Over extending the CV axles and having contact between the UCA and coils are my two concerns. I have Light Racing UCA's if that helps.

    Any advice? Thanks.

I don't have an opinion on the spacer. However, switching to the 5100 shock will gain you 1.2" of travel in the front (assuming OME shock now), and IMO, should completely solve the topping out issue you spoke of.

I saw your Crom-like review of them on your build. Yes, I've got OME now. I'll look at the 5100 option, but I need to go with the cheap fix IF it is actually a good fix. The spacers are like $30. Thanks!

Ordered the OME 10mm spacers from post 135. I pulled the wheel off and slid a temporary oversized spacer between the strut and the top mounting point to make sure there would be no binding in the CV axles or clearance issues with the upper control arm. All is good.

The front OME shocks top out at 24 1/2" (center of hub to fender above). The spacer should push that to around 25 1/4".

With the weight of my truck and running OME 886 coils, I'm at 23" ride height leaving only 1 1/2" of up travel. That explains the constant topping out.

Before removing the OME 887 coils, the ride height was 21 1/2" (again, center of hub to fender above). I had 3" of up travel with that setup.

The spacers with the 887 coils back on should put the ride height at about 22 1/4", and I get the 3" of up travel back. I'll be installing my new super bumps, so I doubt the spacer will cause the shock to ever bottom out. I will check it of course with the spring removed just to be sure.

So 3/4" loss in ride height and double the up travel. AND I get the softer suspension back that will actually cycle and flex.:yay:

I had bought the heavier coils when I put on the bumper and winch thinking I would need them, but looking back, the softer suspension fit my needs better. Install along with rear suspension work will be in a few weeks.

The front suspension is done. As mentioned a few posts back, I really needed a softer ride and more importantly, more up travel. I went from 886 coils to my old 887's with a 5mm spacer (edit: 10mm spacer). With my heavy pig, the front now sits at 22 1/2" (a loss of only 1/2") from fender to center of hub. Full droop is now 25". I love it! I'm not too worried about hard landings with the new bump stops.

For those that like the numbers:
    Stock coils are 530lbs
    887 OME are 590lbs
    886 OME are 660lbs

Rear suspension soon with a permanent fix to the Daker squeak. :burnrubber:

I slid some zip ties between them about 6 months ago, and they are holding up well. I'm installing these though:

If you decide to drill yourself the actual pads are only a dollar each from the spring shop, but from what I've read you may go through more than one drill bit, something to consider in the total price

I ended up buying them at a local spring shop that did my drive shaft re-tube a while back. I think they were about $1.20 each after tax. I'll drill them myself and report back on drill bit usage.

After a re-alignment, I put the BAMF lower control arm skids back on. I decided to change them from orange to black. I love orange, but it was just too much. :)
