Why doesn't Toyota (or other makes) offer a factory lifted truck? It seems like there would be a huge demand for these to ride just a couple inches higher. They could offer the SR5, TRD models, the Pro and the High-Rider.

Seriously, I bet most of this forum would pay an extra grand for one to come riding two inches higher with 285s. Wouldn't it be a win, win for Toyota and the consumer?

Toyota can't be that out-of-touch with their customers, can they?

    Huh?

TRD Pro is factory lifted. Ford Raptor is factory lifted. Chevy Colorado ZR2...

The people putting lifts on their truck are the minority. They sell to the masses. Toyota already makes amazing offroad vehicles such a the LC 70 series and the Hilux, most Americans dont want or need those.

    They do offer lifted trucks.

The base models are the standard height trucks.

The prerunners, sports, and offroads are lifted.

We lift from those heights cause..

    Moar height!

The number of Tacoma owners on this forum, or those who can be classed as enthusiasts, is a mere microcosm of total vehicle sales.

    And not everyone here lifts.

There are dealers who 'build' trucks to sell. The guy with no bucks who wants to finance the mods is the target. Sometimes quality parts are used. Sometimes not so much.

Toyota knows exactly what they are doing. It's why they make so much money.

I also believe that everyone who does modify their truck, does it to their own liking. If everyone just bought the one from the dealer, everyone would be driving the same truck.

Hell, I was thinking an inch or two lower would be nice! The sport should be lower. Better fuel econ, especially in the wind.

No, but an X runner might have made an interesting choice. Except not a 3rd gen option.

Trucks aren't meant to have "good" fuel economy.
