Since Tonneau Covers are so popular...

There will be another design coming out soon that is totally enclosed, with rearward facing locking doors.

This one is intended to be more of a basket.

 

I'm thinking about where I'd stick the dividers when I have a larger piece of gear that takes up the entire tray... rather than leaving them loose in the bottom of the tray, what if there was a slot wide enough to handle all of them side by side at one end? That way you could store the dividers out of the way without them being loose.

 

Hmmmmmm.....I kinda like that idea.

 

This is perfect. I Just checked the dimensions of my double rifle case and I'm getting excited.

 

Subscribed. I like your initial design and a lot of the suggestions. Slots to hold the dividers when not in use is cool. The bottle opener is a must.

My ideal version would raise the sides 4-5 inches but keep the T-bolt locations the same. No, this would not work with tonneau covers but the added depth would hold stuff (groceries, gear) better without having to tie down for short, in town trips. Plus you could still side it forward and back over the wheel wells depending on need.

Then again if you incorporate bag hooks along the long sides I could simply hook and hang bags down into the truck bed.

I'm also looking forward to the covered, locking box you mentioned.

It was 45 pounds when I designed it as steel.

Plastic would be possible, but flimsy, and I don't do plastic.

 

To match the weight of the Aluminum it would have to be pretty thick ABS. The OEM Cargo Divider is 18.9lbs.

How about deeper than 7.5" to hold grocery bags?
