I recently went form a single axle to a double axle with a 5k lbs load. Also the single had a flat front and the new double has a "V" nose, also thinking this would help. the single did not have breaks and the double does have breaks(they are not dragging with plugged in). Weight wise i'm assuming an extra axle and tires add 300lbs to the total weight, not a huge deal i thought.

I honestly thought it would make towing easier but it "seems" to weigh a bit more even with the same load. My mpg went from 13 to 10. is the drag that much more with a double axle?
