Hmmm I see. I can't speak first hand as to what the difference would be as it aged through time. I just know we've never had any problems and we offer a lifetime warranty for any defects with our paint. My best guess would be that your top coat on your 3 stage would fade a bit and the pearl in the mid coat would become more exposed where as 2 stage would fade more evenly. But I can't really see that happening either with proper cc coverage. I think it's there way to squeeze out a few extra bucks, but that's only my 2 cents as I haven't ever personally seen a problem with colour match in that regards.

    It's a never ending $100-$200 a week thing & still going.
Well Luchin you are correct, my bad. It's been almost 10 years since I was the preper, I am now curious as to when they decided to join the modern era and use clear coat. After you reply I looked at my truck (black)and yes it appears to be bc/cc. I was a under the impression it was single stage. I will say this though my 97 Supra was single stage and so is my buddies 06 Tundra, until I painted them bc/cc. My original point was that Toyota used single stage well past the 80's, 90's, and into the 2000's.
