WELL.....couldnt stand the lack of a good spot for a cell phone or my cb mic. I got so fed up I sent Macgyver~

So I knew I wanted it by the vent, but I hated that the HVAC made my phone cold or hot depending. I decided that I was going to delete a vent and create some kind of base for a magnetic mount. I wasnt sure what I would use, so I went to Fleetfarm and wandered around with my vent in hand until I found something I felt would work. I ended up finding some gutter holders made of a hard but flexable plastic. It just happened to be the exact width of the vent. It obviously needed to be doubled up to create a delete plate. After a bit of time pondering the options I got the pieces stuck together and roughed to size. The next challenge was making it so it can be reversible...I just so happened to have the perfect scenario with the screwback pin/holder/whatevers that I use for leather work. This worked perfect as there is no room between the vents to do any other kind of secure method. I decided to create a bit of a "storage" shelf on the top side thinking Id have some use for it. Thats why its not flush top and bottom, it was on purpose. It turned out very very solid and looks ok...not quite OEM, but its just a truck and I avoided drilling into anything visible.

So far the "shelf" is perfect for storage of air fresheners!!!!!

Finally got my AP Leafs in and installed. I went with the standards not the extra 400lb ones. Omg, it's made a huge difference in looks right out the gate. So much better! Install went nice and smooth thanks to a clean truck. IMG_20201015_132224.jpg IMG_20201015_140512.jpg 20201015_161717-COLLAGE.jpg

Finished up my CB setup aswell. I use the folding drink tray and back as my platform. It can be folded down for more room but it's easily viewable and adjusted by the driver. I'm pretty happy with where I'm at with the truck it's going to probably stay this way for a while.IMG_20201017_150626.jpg IMG_20201017_150635.jpg

Was, yes..... It has changed this weekend when I put on the new leafs. I'm obviously up in the rear now. But unfortunately it never really fixed the driver's side lean. I will have to take off the front left king shock and adjust it to help level it out.

Nice look! Would you mind sharing where you got this vinyl from? I have some paint mars I want to cover up on the tail gate and rear panels and think this is a creative & cost effective idea.
