How do I get Sirius XM on my 2016 Sport?? Looks like the Toyota Apps are gone so what is the easiest way to do this?? I've never had Sirius before but I just upgraded the speakers and would like something better than the radio.....

EDIT: Update....the XM icon is buried in the 'Sources" menu, called the number they gave me...took 5 mins, got the $5/mo plan for a year....Thanks everyone!

Call Sirius. They should be able to activate it

it is an option with a satellite antenna built in. My guess is; if you don't have the button, your truck didn't come with the option.

If it was easy, I would rip it out and send it to you,,, don't like the way the fuggers do business and don't spend money with them. Internet services have take over for a reason.

I agree....so what are my other options? The HU has the XM logo so I thought that would be the easiest....then it looks like Toyota got rid of their APPS suite....

Buy a separate 'plug-n-play' unit. That is what I had, could use it in the truck and with home docks - in the house, garage, basement, at camp (inside and outside). Easier to justify having it since I could listen almost anywhere but, the cost of subscription and losing reliability/reception made me drop it.

Pandora, Spotify are other options. I use Pandora for free (with ads) I rarely lose reception - 1 spot for 2-3 miles on the way to camp is a dead spot and that is about it so far.

You can get it on your phone if the truck radio does not support siriusxm. The radio will say siriusxm on it somewhere if available.

We have different model years but it should be under the "Source" menu. If you have the option it'll be there.

I've never tried calling before, just signed up online, it was $5 per month for 2 years.

Press on the "Audio" button beside the screen, then the option for "Source" should pop up. Press on that and then there should an option for XM Radio.

Once you get the app you need the radio id and call them to activate. On my jeep I had to hit channel 0 or one I believe. Tacoma must be the same. I let mine expire in the Tacoma.

A year from now, when your introductory price ends watch your credit card statement. Many on TW call Sirius / XM ready to cancel and get an additional low price offer.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
I’ve been paying $60-80 per year for 10-15 years for my wife’s rig. Then I use the app on my phone and play it in my truck via Bluetooth. Works well, just an annual call to XM once a year.

When you talk with them, tell them you don't want them to keep your credit card on file, that way you're not automatically charged $300+ for a years subscription, and than you have to deal with the shit that follows. I've been doing this since 2016 and never been charged. I still have to call every year to renew, tell them I don't have time to argue about the price, I want what I was charged last year or less, takes 5 minutes and I'm done for another year.

I have to try. Last time I got a card in the mail about a listen free period I tried in my 2020 and only got the preview channel. So I went back to my Plexamp app.

Edit. I tried XM this morning and this time I can only seem to tune to 17 yacht Rock radio and 065 the message. Not sure what's up with that. I'm definitely not seeing what the link says is available. 2 is more than I got last time they had a free preview.

Was your truck under cover when you only got two channels? I was not able to receive all preview channels until I pulled out of my garage.

Also, try pressing and hold the head unit power button for 3 seconds to reboot the head unit.

No. I don't have a garage to park in wasn't under trees either. I drove a few Miles too, shut off the engine and completely restarted too.

I have to try the power button thing.

OK I tried the power button thing. No help.
    20240524_120204.jpg
This is what I have in the all channel list.
Then I went to the web page to send a refresh signal with the radio ID #. Playing it for about 10 minutes and still don't have the full list of preview channels.
