I'm just curious what people are paying for their monthly satellite service. The free Sirius runs out in a couple of weeks for my 2014 Taco and Sirius called offering a 29.00 for 6 month sign-up deal. It seems like I've read that folks are paying about that much on just a regular basis. Hard to tell sometimes with these satellite companies. Dish and Direct TV are constantly jockeying offers and service costs.

That's the best deal I've gotten out of them.

I have that same 6-month deal. When it ends, and they want to start you on their 'normal' rates. Just tell them you don't want it anymore, and they will re-up that deal.

I think i'm on like the 3rd 'trial' now.

About 3 years ago I worked for SXM setting up an outsourced advanced technical support site. I was part of that project for about 18 months. This is true, although once in a while they try to "get tough" and not allow back to back "save" deals. If they let you cancel just wait a month, sign up for month to month, and call to cancel after a couple of weeks.

What are you doing/saying to get $88 per year? I'm paying $96 for 2 subscriptions every 3 months, so maybe around $380 for a year for 2 subscriptions.

I turned down every offer they gave me when my trial ran out on the new Taco. The sales lady's last effort was $0.99 for 1 month. But it was only good for 1 month. I turned that down, too.

I am about to get my 2014 and it has XM for 6 months, I already have a Sirus radio in my Camry on a portable mount, and I have an XM Internet subscription for a home XM radio, I pay about $200/year for it including sports and Stern. I used to put my Sirus in my 2006 and later my 2013 when I traveled, I had a magnetic mount antenna and a portable setup that screwed into the power socket in the dash. I tried to strong arm Sirus last year and they flat out wouldn't play that game. I have a friend who plays that every year and wins. I'll be at a crossroads soon, Sirus/XM,Internet subscription... what's a guy to do?

Tell them you want to cancel. When they ask why tell them it's too much. They'll present something different and keep telling them it's too much.

I've been playing the game with Sirius XM for years. I never pay over $25 per six months. The way I go about doing it is the month my sub is due I call to cancel. They ask me why and I tell them because Pandora / i Heart Radio is free so I don't feel the need to pay for it. 99% of the time they offer 6 months for $25 dollars. You have to remember, it is harder for them to get new customers than keep current ones. The one time I ran into someone that didn't want to offer me that I told them to cancel the sub and within 2 weeks you will send me a mailer requesting me back for $25 for six months with no sign up fee. We can either do it that way or we can make it easy and you can give it to me now. They gave it too me.

It's a game I play every six months but have never payed more than $25 for a six month period.

I just renewed my XM subscription last month for $90 total out the door. Last year I paid $110. Don't know why they gave it to me cheaper this year. Did not even have to fight or threaten to cancel.

    This.

I canceled mine a little while back, I just didn't listen anymore. But I'd get this every year, no problem. I just said I couldn't afford to pay for the full price, and I needed to cancel. Did that for 6 years or so.
