Wonder if this will work for slacker...almost everyday I use slacker and have to make it through 2-3 error messages before it will connect. Even then it will freeze often and I have to restart. On Verizon with an htc 10...reception on phone is pretty solid.

I us Slacker, never any connection issues, much larger library than Pandora, I pay for the subscription so I can bring up songs/albums on demand and save them.
They have a ton of premade stations and you can choose to have hosts if you want a traditional radio experience (or just make your own like pandora).
I'm happy with it, never listen to FM anymore.
I had XM for a while in my 4Runner and of course had the trial in the Taco, I don't like it as much as the streaming services.

I just renewed my XM for 6 months at $30. I figured why not it's neat. But I do not think I will opt for it again. I have about 3000 on my iPod that I can pump. XM statics out from time to time for seconds.

Salex Center console organizer, glove box organizer, Husky Xact contour front and rear digital floor liners, OEM black running boards, TRD PRO Sema 4runner wheels black, Blackout badge kit, Bakflip MX4 hard folding tonneau.
This is exactly the same tactic I have used for the past 10 years. Works every time and never accept their first offer if it's not the same as yours, just say no thank you, you'd like to cancel and magically a better offer will appear. On the off chance it doesn't work and you get stonewalled, just hang up and call back and talk to someone else.

I regularly visit padre island national seashore where there's zero cell service so streaming anything is off the table.

For this reason alone, XM was worth it for me.

I got the $30 6mo thing. No howard stern radio on the basic plan though...

Decided I didn't listen enough during the trial XM subscription to make it worth purchasing. They were very persistent trying to get me to sign up with phone calls and emails for over a year.
    Perfect analogy!!!

I just use local stations, tunes on my iPhone, or iHeartRadio.
