Yup. From everything I've read here, I don't get the sense they're out for my best interest. I do enjoy it so far, but i've gone all 30-something life without it. Check mate every 6 months:fingerscrossed:

Like others here I renewed on the 6 mo./$30.00 promotion but I won't be renewing again. I rarely use it. I prefer apple music because with iphone bluetoothed to the truck I can just tell Siri to play whatever I feel like listening to at the moment. I also have a hefty collection of tunes on my phone I can randomize or browse directly from the touch screen. I also read recently that Toyota is implementing apple carplay soon and will update the software for older models to use it as well.

Do you have a link where they said Toyota would be updating older models? I have only heard the opposite on here.

I have an Entune system, works there. You could also bring your thumbdrive preloaded with MP3 tunes to the dealer and test it out.

Sirius sent me a letter today with a half decent promo that made me reconsider subscribing... Not sure if anyone has gotten any better deals.

    $20 for 5 months.

Same here! I decided it's kinda nice to have all the choices with no commercials, but like you, only if it's around $30 for 6 months, and each time I think "this will be the last time..." but they always have a new deal.

iPod and FM...$0 per year. Works for me. I never touched the Sirius once, but their emails are annoying as hell. I can't imagine how bad they would be if I was actually trying to cancel.

If you bothered to READ the confirmation email and listen to the CSR they auto renewal unless you physically pick up the phone and call them.

They auto renewal at the going rate. For example, if you were on a special promo price that was 50.00 for 6 months and the now rate is 100.00 for the 6 months, that's what's going to happen!!

They don't have mental telepathy to know that, so it auto renewals. Real simple, no one got one over on you. You did it to yourself! You just wen't paying attention to details! Problem solved!

    That simple!

The reason I have not renewed my trial is that I hear the same songs on some channels! Why does the Beatles channel play the same little richard song every week at the same time? I understand the Beatles would have a limited discography but if you are going to have an "influences" program then you have a huge discography to choose from!

If I’m on the phone talking to one of their “ salespeople “ and tell them that I do NOT want autorenewal, then I should NOT get “ Autorenewed “ regardless of what their contract says. The salesman will say what ever you want to hear to get you in the contract. I realize that I didn’t get it in writing but expect a bit more from large company like Sirius is. So, now I just pay by check because Sirius is untrustworthy. Thanks for the non-education moment. Oh, and I solved my own problem. Thanks again for nothing.

Wife had it in her Kia a few years back. We found it completely worthless as even the "no commercial" channels had commercials.

XM kind of sealed their fate with us when during a paid subscription, Adam & Eve commercials started playing on the Blue collar comedy channel as well as another channel that played "family oriented" music while we were on a road trip to OK from FL with our 3 kids in the car. As an adult, it was kind of funny. As a parent of 3 children listening to Bill Engvall and hearing that type of commercial, I was irritated to say the least. I called to cancel the subscription during the road trip, they did inform me that not ALL channels are commercial free even with a paid subscription. The operator did agree that the particular channel commercial combo was wrong in her opinion.

During the free trial on my new Taco I tuned in the Blue collar channel and heard another sex toy commercial, did not listen long enough to determine actual product or company, I switched it off. When I got home I called XM told them to end my free trial and to remove me from their contact list. I have heard from the twice since and on the second call informed them I was recording the call and any further calls or contacts would be considered harassment and thus subject to possible legal action. I have not gotten an email, call, or postal mail from them since. Outright told them I would not want it if they were to pay me to listen.

My wife called them to cancel her free subscription and ask to be removed from the contact list about 20 minutes after getting home with her new Rav.

The wife and I stream Pandora, Tune in Radio (Sooner football games), Amazon Music, other music on our phones, or plug in a USB. We turn on FM or AM if and when we need local weather concerning hurricane etc.

Now if I could just get it to drop off the selections of my HU, I would be even happier.

To those who like XM.. more power to you, it is really just not for me.

I bought a lifetime subscription in 2009, which I don't think they offer any more (at least in Canada). I thought $550 was a lot at the time, but I've got my money's worth out of it. I'm not sure about the US, but its called SiriusXM up here. I think it used to be 2 separate services (Sirius and XM) at some point?

You can move your subscription (if you bought lifetime subscription after a certain date) to a new vehicle/radio up to 3 times ($75 charge each time), after that you have to get a new plan.

Every music channel has the same 50-60 songs they rotate through..I mainly listen to music via bluetooth anyway. After a couple days you've heard most everything on a given channel, with the exception of the news channels which I enjoy (PRI, BBC, CBC etc..)

Bottom line, I wouldn't get a new monthly subscription. Not worth it.

I'm pretty sure they did away with the lifetime subscription. I had one long ago and then willed it over to my brother. My next vehcile came with a year free so didn't need it. It's only transferable once. So he can't give it back.

I have several radio's on my plan currently. So I qualify for multi radio discount. My wife uses it as she's got a lot of windshield time. 19K on Her Jeep Grand Cherokee acquired in March. For me it's worth every penny. Happy wife = good life!

I'll never subscribe again due to all the BS they make you go through to cancel. It's so painful canceling with them.

I took the 6 for 30 and have the cancel date written on my calendar. Will cancel unless I always get 6/30. BTW I e mail them every couple of weeks to complain about people beating their jaws, I pay for music. If you must say the artist or band and be brief. If I want to hear someone beating their jaw about a wedding in england or a volcano in hawaii then I will switch over to am or fm.

You can thank them too for selling your vehicle info on to those warranty scammers! At first I was like how do they know this? DMV doesn't sell, nor does your credit file or the County. When they started calling and referencing my wife's fleet car which is not owned by us, and on my SiriusXM account as her company doesn't pay for squat, it all came together.
