There was a class action suit. I think the lawyers got all the loot. I just got the endless phone calls.

I paid 350$ for my lifetime membership on my 2007 Volvo. I sold it and whoever is driving it now has free Sirius. I had Sirius call me last year seeing if I still had the Volvo. I said yes. No sense in canceling someone’s tunes.

I tried a XM subscription a number of years ago on a different vehicle. I didn't like it. Mostly because they play a lot of odd ball tracks on any given genre. The other reasons are that XM has poor sound quality when compared to apps like Spotify (which I subscribe). Much more bandwidth on Spotify and I can pick the music and download to my phone.

Aside from a random political station, they offer me nothing I'm willing to pay for. Haven't tuned in for years.

You can transfer your lifetime to your truck for like 20 dollar transfer fee. Least that what they used to do. It's not locked to the vehicle.
I've done the 6 months for 25/30, even that is pricey for something that streams at less that 50kbps, usually 32kbps. HD radio is 96-128. Sirius is just lots of money for poop sound. It's inconvenient but cheaper is with the Sirius app on your phone and then stream it. Sounds better and is like 4 bucks a month

I listened for a total of about 3 minutes when it was free. No way I would pay for it.

No idea, it was under my FIL account, but he was no longer able to drive and gave it to my wife and I to use since he couldn’t. You can’t do lifetime anymore anyway. I guess it didn’t go well for them money wise on their end.

Last time I had it transferred it was like $75. But I didn’t negotiate cause my wife made the phone call, so if you get angry enough they may lower the transfer cost. Or maybe wing some story about how your stereo is broken and you got a new one.

And they have weird stipulations. If you bought lifetime before a certain year you can do unlimited transfers. If you bought it after that year it’s like a limit of 3+cost.

One of the best ways to mitigate all the charges they do for transfers is to use a Sirius tuner module if you can. The module is what retains the code, not the actual radio, so you can just plug n play if you ever move to a new radio. Of course this doesn’t work on OEM sat ready radios :/

Not a fan of the Sirius/XM radio. I did a subscription a few years ago and when I went to cancel they made it the most difficult thing to do and the customer service is horrendous.

Huh been a long time since I used it. It's in the truck. But haven't used it. Came with a free year on my jeep and yanked the headunit out second day. I can't see paying their ever increasing prices for what sounds like I'm underwater when listening. That stinks on the transfer. They're also increasing difficult to deal with since their call center is in Pakistan, or India and the people have no idea what they're doing. Ask to speak to a case manager or whatever the equivalent is. It used to redirect to the US, not sure now. GL

Mine is up in a few days. I'll re-up at the $30/ 6mos. I only listen to Stern. Music channels sound like crap.

I've never really been a fan. I've been using Bluetooth and some other form of radio for years. Like many others Google Music is my go to these days and I can use it anywhere.

Had my credit card numbers hacked two times. I know it happened because Sirius had the numbers of the cards. One time for a deposit for a Lexus and another time for a vacation rental, both in Southern CA. Don't think I am renewing in Nov.
