This, never give Sirius a credit card number, terrible customer service. I only keep it at a bargain rate.

I have had Sirius for about 10 years now. For the last 8 of that, we have lived in the Mountainous area of Idaho. We get about 6 radio stations, then about 5 Spanish ones it seems with some religious ones.

I have it in my tacoma and my wife's car. Radio signals drop really fast in the mountains.

It's worth the $5 a month to have totally random music choices with no commercials, no need for a wifi signal etc...

I have thousands of songs on a USB too but I have to constantly update that or it gets stale quick.

Sirius/XM will also quickly make you realize what a horrid and abysmal thing talk radio is, sweet Jesus there are some painfully unlistenable shitbags on the talk channels.

There is not much I hate in life more than Sirius XM. The audio quality is substandard, the business model is shady, and they play the same songs over and over.

I pay less to have an Amazon music account, which gives me access to every song in the entire Amazon library at my control and without the need for DJs. And I can take it out of my car with me.

I’m thinking of keeping it, no annoying car commercials ect ect. I know some of you use the miniature jukeboxes you carry in your pocket but hell it took me 6 months to figure out how to use the new fangled CD’s when they came out, I don’t have enough time left to figure one of them out.

For years I tell them I'm not interested at that price "I use Pandora" and I get a year for 1/2 price. Works every time.

I just subscribed with a gift card. They tell you when they will bill you again. Put it in your calendar. Before that day comes, call and negotiate a new deal with another gift card. If you wait to long you are billed the stupid high price.

I have tried to get them to sell me a multi-year deal with them just so I don't have to call in and negotiate but they always refuse longer than a year.

It's personal preference. If you like it then keep it if not then don't.

I drive about 2500-3000 miles/mo in my Taco. I've had Sirius since 2004. I can't have a vehicle w/o it. I drive across the state a few times a year to my camp and it's nice not having to change the stations. When I head there I don't really have cell service to stream anything and the radio stations are few and far between.

I'm on the fence too about renewing. I'm probably not going to given how many options we have out there for music now.

Fuck them, my non Tacoma has satellite radio. Sirius keeps calling me after I told them I wasn't interested. Fuck any business that continues to call after being told politely, that I'm not interested. If I was interested, and they called I still wouldn't subscribe out of pure spite.

After completing a recent 3300 mile road trip, it was really nice to have choices to keep the mind alive. On county roads in the Superior Forest where you are the only one on the road, it was comforting to hear business news throughout the day. OBTW, the taco was easily more comfortable than any car I have ever driven.

The only channels I listened to play the music I owned twenty years ago. I can listen to free radio if I want to hear commercial label music. I'm only on the road for a half hour at most, I could live with out any radio. Even the morning radio shows sound like last night's TW.

they offered me 6 months for $25 after I said I'm not interested.

It seems they just want to make a sale so they'll start offering deals. I kept telling them if its free sure but if I need to pay for it, its not worth it to me as I rarely used it.

They still keep contacting me over a year later trying to get me to re-subscribe. I told them multiple times now to remove me from their calling list as I'm not interested. Its getting really annoying now.

True...but it's still not as convenient as XM. No other service is immediately available when you turn the key and allows you to flick thru channels via the steering wheel buttons.

I'm a rampant channel surfer, Amazon/spotify/pandora all involve way more steps to get going and skip around.

Those bastards emailed me a couple months ago about my old car. Saying I could get 3 years for 99 dollars. I called them and asked about the deal. The guy was like yes this is our best deal. When I gave him my radio id i gave him the ID to my new car. He said it wasn't available on my current car. But confirmed that they had a deal for 3 years for 99 bucks. Never explained why I couldnt get that deal. So fuck em
