Looking good! Can't wait to hear your impressions of the 887/5100 combo. Good luck with the install!

I dig it! Those tires are a strong contender of mine when the time comes (along with wildpeaks, open countrys and discoverer s/t maxxs) . At the price you got them for it would be a no brainer. Looking forward to seeing her done!

I was looking at the wildpeaks too, actually I went in to see if they had them in stock (they didn’t) but that’s when the tech mentioned he had the duratracs fresh off a truck. (They put the wrong size on some guys truck) very lucky for me!

Installed the front of the lift, pics coming... but I am currently worried because I have all the symptoms of the needle bearing vibration. Intermittent vibration and rhythmic hum around 30mph that goes away in 4wd... I know what I have to do to fix it, my question is how long can I drive on it safley? I will try to fix it as soon as possible but if I drive a few hundered miles on it will I mess something up?

    Why wheel spacers? Unnecessary

Was originally going to put on 285’s and run the oem wheels, hence the need for spacers. but got such a great deal on the 265’s I couldn’t pass it up.

Was the lift isntall difficult? How does the ride compare to the stock OR suspension? I am looking at doing the same thing

I have not done anything to a vehicle except change a tire before the lift and I installed the front successfully in about 3 hrs with the help of YouTube. I even assembled the Coilovers myself with a rented spring compressor from Napa. The rear was different on the other hand. I’m sure it was just my inexperience cause it looks so simple on the videos, but I could not get the damn center pin to go through. Put it back together stock then just took it to a shop to get it installed. As for the ride I prefer it over stock. Stiffer, but not to be mistaken with harsher. It just feels more planted, much less roll and way better handling overall.

Another thing I noticed when swapping the suspension is the 5100’s are much larger in diameter than the stock “Bilsteins”. It was my understanding that the only difference between the 4600 and 5100 is the ride height adjustability. I’m sure the 4600 straight from Bilstein are the same size as the 5100, but the Tacoma OEM ones are much smaller. Here’s a pic I found on google for reference.

Dude, doing those AALs by yourself is a nightmare. I did mine by myself and it was damn near impossible. I even bent my C clamp in the process which I didn’t think was possible
