My new tacoma will have a satellite radio in it. Does it usually come with a free period or is that just a special?

Every car anyone I know has purchased that came with satellite radio has received a free trial, anywhere between 3 and 6 months. My Tacoma came with 3 months, my wife's Chevy came with 6 months. The radio company hopes you will like it and subscribe, so I don't think there is a chance it will not come with a free trial.

and if you do the trial period and then end it, they will hound you relentlessly over phone, email, mail, etc trying to get you to sign back up.

That sounds great. I am picking mine up in a different state and will be driving it back home so a satellite radio would be great. Is it reasonable to expect I could get it set up in an afternoon so I can drive away the nest morning?

The radio works just like FM (from a usage perspective). There isn't anything to set up other than picking satellite as a source and finding the station you want to listen to.

yes. You can finish the subscription online or over the phone.

Personal opinion - Sirius is shit. They are a shitty company with shitty tactics. It doesn't work good in areas with tree cover/big hills. It's expensive as hell unless you haggle them down.
Just use a smart phone to stream bluetooth music/podcasts.

Can I get the subscription set up before I leave the dealership?

You know that is a pretty good idea. I could just take it with me and play it all the way back home!

I didn't do anything for mine. I just picked the source and found a station. Listened to it for a few minutes to see what it was about, and then switched back to regular radio.

I have a account with them and every jan they raise the rates until you go back and forth with them. Its usually $100 a year in the end. I was thinking about calling them and seeing if I can get 2 for that price.

Start here- make sure the dealer links you smart phone to the entune. You can stream music over this, as well as navigation and phone.
Good luck with the new ride!

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
They never once bothered me until I reached out and renewed it the first tie. The dealer doesn't give them your info.

I had a lady insult me for telling her that $15 for 3 months was "out of the budget." Fuck their foreign indian piece of shit employees. And fuck their company.

Not sure about that. I never really used it and I still get letters in the mail 10 months later with "special offers". The smart phone is the way to go IMO.

I like to listen to the news, fox, bbc, etc and havent found anything that works for streaming the same thing that is on TV. If I can find it Ill ditch xm/sirus.

I just listen to their comedy stuff, although they recycle their material way too much, once it's done I'll just use pandora

I still get letters and things. They go in the trash. I setup my own music streaming service from my server at home. The only stations I wanted to listen to either played bullshit music that wasn't in the genre (Liquid "Metal" anyone that fag Jose Mangin) or commercials (comedy?)

    I won't pay for that.
