FWIW, Husky sells replacement mud flaps pretty cheap.

Toyota chopped my pedal also... BS repair IMO but whatever makes them sleep better at night.

I knew it was part of the TSB but told them not to touch it. Had to argue with them a little but they ended up replacing the spiral cable and left my pedal alone. They also tried to tell me they were going to trim some carpet and padding under it for better pedal clearance. Not sure why they want to do any of that, my pedal isn't close to the floor or mats (weathertech's)

I fought Toyota Corp and the dealer over my 2009. In the end I told my dealer that I was bringing it in for the spring TSB and tranny flash and if they cut my pedal they would never see my ass again. I measured the pedal before and after. They did not cut it. Heck the dang thing is short enough as is. When I test drove the 13 the pedal felt a little different. Sure enough I look at it and it looks like a go cart pedal. I still do not like it.

They actually replaced my pedal with a smaller one. I like it. It makes driving with flip flops a little more comfortable imo. I would have opted out but they did it and asked questions later.

The paranoia over the pedal chop blows my mind , can't even tell mine's been doctored

I'll have to agree with Oz on this one ... let that settle in for a moment ... have put 25, 000 on the "short" pedal ... never noticed a thing ... perhaps those with difficulties should seek a good podiatrist.

I noticed the first time drove my 2013. I think the ones that do not notice need the podiatrist. I must have more feeling in my feet. I have gotten use to it. On the 2009 it was just more the idea that someone was Jerry rigging part of my truck. They offered a replacement but I had to drive around the block and come back. Toyota was ok with wasting my time. That is why I fought them. Besides I hate having anyone tell that I have to do something to my truck.

I have not received the spiral cable recall notice yet for my 2009. Are they dribbling them out a few at a time or did they forget me?

BTW, I reluctantly let them do my pedal last year when I had it in for rear axle bearing. The trimmed pedal is not a problem for my size 12s.

I guess that would be me. :anonymous:

I politely asked them to leave the pedal as is. No problems, just had to sign a waiver.

Why would I let Toyota fiddle with something that isn't broken? I've got Weathertechs, and have made it 8 years without an issue. Had an '09 Corolla that I did let them chop and it was butchered. I could tell right away that it was off. No thanks this time.
