Ok so I just received replacement carrier bearing, but taking it out of the box the spot welds on one side have broken free. But bolting it up everything will line up, is it worth the risk or should I try to get another one

Nope, that won't hurt anything. Just make sure the ends are matched up when you tighten the bolts.

I would call a reliable (?!) Toyota mechanic who has worked on Tacomas for a few years and ask your question. Ask the same question from whom you bought the bearing. Then decide if you want to exchange it.

If it were me, and I were in a pinch, and I knew it should be welded on each side, and I were in a bind for time, I would just take the bearing to someone and have it spot-welded.
