My 22 Sport has only one of two skid plates I think. The one I have only goes to the oil filter. Does the 2020 and up trds sport have one, the off road have two and the pro one complete one? And can I get the second one to fit or get a pro to work on my sport without and mods?

Everything you said about which models have what is accurate as far as I know.

Pro should fit if you take off the plastic air dam. I believe off-roads will fit as well and shouldn't be hard to find someone's used ones. But its not anywhere near as thick as the pro's.

FWIW, I have a 21 Sport and the TRD skid plate fit perfectly after removing the air dam.

All Sports have the small, thin skid. ORs have a longer, thin one. The Pro skid will fit all 3rd Gens and is pretty nice while still being light enough to not affect the suspension.

Would I be able to keep my lower valance on with the OR or Pro one? The sand and salt used here in Central Ontario in the winter is brutal, it gets up all under hood. It look looks so exposed with the small sport one. I'm a Hwy guy, a couple of camp trails a year maybe.

Don’t buy the second piece, It’s thin junk. Plenty of not too expensive choices out there if you want a bit of protection

    Working on it ...
Take off the air dam. Then takeoff the metal short skid plate that the sport has. The TRD skid plate will bolt right into place. You will have to remove a few bolts and use the ones that come with the TRD plate.

    Ask me how I know … :)

You can keep the chin strap with the OR skid. It has to go with the Pro skid. I got rid of my chin strap, but it is completely up to you.

Is the OR a one piece, or two piece? Wondering if I just need to buy from the oil filter back piece. Ya chin strap as ugly as it is keep the salt spray somewhat out of the engine bay.

It is two pieces, but you're not likely to find one sold (or given away) separately. :D

There are some folks here who trim the air damn to still work with the Pro Skidplate. Unboxing the Pro Plate, you will know it's a solid component. Definately gives me confidence of better protection. Plus it looks good!

The TRD skid plate is a good choice. It has a small trap door which allows access to the oil filter without requiring removal of the entire skid plate. Just 4 small bolts. You either have to remove the air dam or modify it to mount the TRD plate. I think just taking it off makes the most sense since the skid plate smooths out the undercarriage and seems to help reduce turbulence under the truck. I saw zero affect on MPG, but I don't do a lot of high speed highway miles which is where this would show up. If you modify the air dam to accommodate the TRD plate, it may, do more harm than good by causing more turbulence.

    Looks great too.
