I just did an oil change and installed the Lostar skid plate on my SR5. There weren't any spacers on the stock splash shield.

Can anyone confirm if the Lostar fits a TRD Sport? Per Amazon listing (link in message #2) it only fits a PRO or TRD OR.

It will fit, you have to remove the airdam/valance/chinchinian.

Where are you located? Some guys on TW have stock plate take offs gathering dust with other stuff up in their garage rafters so the Wifey’s won’t see all the stuff they keep and call them hoarders…:anonymous:

The OE skid plate is junk anyways. I would use it as an excuse to upgrade to the TRD or other aftermarket skid plate. The size difference alone is substantial.

Have been happy with my TRD skid. Threw it on for better protection and easier access to oil filter. Comes off every 15 thousand or so. Held up well even after sliding down a waterfall chute, caught the whole truck. Thought the airbag was going to go off. Mine is holding up very well...since Dec 5, 2021.

Here she is mated to Talon CAT plate on my first oil change done at the Auto Hobby Shop on Dover Air Force Base in Aug 2022.

My suggestion...get the OEM TRD Skid...it's a PITA for oil changes but looks badass!

Does it fall off every 15000 miles?

This is excellent news, don’t let them order it, they’ll get you some cheap piece of crap. Get your own, have them install it, and then give you money. Nice.

lol. hope thats not due to the need for clarification on my earlier post. my trd plate comes off every 15,000 for service needs. the filter access reduces the need to drop off every oil change. trd skid is heavy and i drop it w/o any assistance, but it is slightly awkward and heavier than stock. it ‘does not’ fall off :facepalm:my bad. for those of you who wheel a lot run a qtip or blast of air into the threads of your frames mounting locations as dirt will fall into the threads at times, after removing the plate, and gum up the works leading to problems with mounting and removing the plate.
