Hey guys I have received a aftermarket skid plate for my 03 taco 4x4 and after receiving it I had some trouble fitting it so set it aside and the bolts that came with it so I am finally going to get around to get it to fit just right. But I lost the bolts that came with the skid. Can some of you guys with expertise help me out!!? I've tried contacting the maker and he was going to send me some new ones but never did, and hasn't answered my email for over a month. Getting kind of desperate

What size and thread count/thread type are the bolts for mounting a after market skid plate?

    Is that the stock size?

I remember the bolts he sent me being longer and had a head of at least 12mm. They were bigger than the stock ones just want to make sure.

    Thanks for the fast response

that is the stock size. The stock ones have a 12mm head as well.

If you still have the stock bumper, an 8mm x 1.25 bolt will be what you need. Just need to figure out the length, most likely a 25mm or 30mm will work fine if the new skid is thicker than stock.

Oh I see the 8mmx1.25 is the thread size...? And the 25mm 30mm is the length of the bolt? And ya the skid plate is way thicker than the stock one. Sorry not super familiar with bolt sizing :)

Not sure of the thickness of the skid you bought. If it is 3/16" better to get the 30mm length. 3/16" > 3mm (the difference between 25mm and 22mm).

Sweet. Wouldn't I want one's that are threaded all the way to the head? The ones in the link aren't

it's a stock photo, as in they took one picture of a representative item and re-used it for everything. Cheaper than taking bunches of photos.
