Does a 2nd gen skid plate bolt right onto a 3rd gen.?

Yes I just put one on yesterday.

It is pretty plug and play but grab a couple m8 x 1.25 x 60mm flange bolts to replace the stock front bolts. They are just a little too short at 50mm. This will give the skid plate about 10mm of cushion from the front valance instead of hugging it pretty tight. About $4 for those two bolts.

I got lucky and paid $70 for mine at a junkyard with a totaled offroad.

    Update: painted that shit black.

Does it have a cutout (window and door) that lines up with the oil filter for the 3rd gen ?

It does not but luckily it’s super easy to take off. Just loosen the two rear bolts a couple turns and drop the two fronts down. Maybe 60 seconds of work. Worth it to me.

Too bad a 1st gen plate wont fit- those were a lot thicker. The fuel tank skid plate on them was real, too.
