Skid Plates - Which do you like?

I have been looking into skid plates, and there seem to be many excellent choices (ATO, All Pro, Bud Built). All seem much more effective than the stock (joke) skid plates on my TRD (bashed beyond recognition).

What plates do you like and why? (Best protection No mods required, cost, etc.) Thanks!

I would call and just start the dialogue. Talk about what you want to do with the truck. Talk about your long term vision for it. Ask for feedback.

In other words, continue the homework process. Once you're sure on your research, it's order time.

 

I've got the AP one because it's the lightest. Works best for me because I don't offroad too often. And something is better than nothing. If I offroaded a lot, I'd get the ATO skids

 

I got my ATO front on tuesday. Painting it tomorrow.

 

ATO. I have a full set. The IFS front skid plate is 1/4". Mine took a beating. I did Gold Mountain trail in Big Bear, stock height. All I had at the time were Demello sliders and ATO front IFS skid. Both still running strong. I recommend ATO skids. Can't speak for Bud, but Bud is tried and true and has good rep amongst all Toyota offorad enthusiasts.

 

ATO has the best skids on the market right now imo. I'll be getting something else that aren't out yet though

 

Where would you rank them in weight? From heaviest to lightest?

 

ATO > Bud built > All Pro

I was actually looking at the all pro because of it's weight.
