    No offense but this was a waste of time.

    your time is likely worth at least $20/hr not including materials. It probably took you over 2 hours

    I would’ve happily sold you my old skidplates for $50 as people routinely do if not free.
    Those are not really skid plates either. They offer the protection of Elmer’s gluing some squares of tinfoil which is why most people replace them.

    I would worry where else the rust is on more critical parts of the truck such as the frame itself.
    Because if those skid plates are rusted that bad surely the frame is.
