Pretty good progress on the trailer made today. I got the entire "frame" of the trailer welded up. Next step will be leaf springs and axle added, followed by the sides.

The dimensions of the box itself is 4' x 6'. The tongue is currently 57" long (from the front of the box) which allows me to add a shelf on the front if I decide to OR I can cut some off and adjust as needed.

    Weld Frame.jpg

    base all welded and notched:

Laying the tongue on for a ton of measuring to make sure it was square and centered

As I continue driving the truck I learn all the things that went "bad" while I was gone the past few months...today I identified my horn did not work.

Since the OEM one went out a while back (only the high tone worked so it sounded like a prius would sound in its natural habitat) I replaced it with the crappy big boy horns from autozone, which doesnt do too bad of a job.
I went to the horn connectors..looked good..then went to the relay which is where the problem was--->
    Horn 1.jpg
Every connector was rusted on, made sense why the horn wouldnt work.

After swapping out replays and redoing each connection:
    Horn 2.jpg

And in an attempt to prevent or at least prolong the occurrence from happening again, I triple wrapped the connectors in tape to help any water drip down past the connectors for protection. It was a free preventative maintenance technique haha All that faces downward so hopefully water doesnt build up on the connectors

    You have pretty finger nails.

Get some Dielectric grease. You should be able to pick it up from any normal auto store or hardware store. It's made to do exactly what your tape wrap wont. Haha

Took on the daunting task of replacing the LCA bushings with Energy Suspension ones today. As far as scale of ease, I'd say its a 3 or 4 out of 10 (physically). As for time, its is VERY time intensive. Took me 4.5 hours to do one LCA (front and rear bushings). That includes the time from pulling up to the lift through getting the tire back on for one side. This was my first time doing it which is also why it took a little longer than I personally thought it would.

Thanks @tacabode and @beertimecontinuum for the text messages and helping answer my questions bout different steps in the process.
Also @Kappes03 for coming out and lending a hand on the project, sorry it was SO boring; def a one man job when doing one side only haha

Here are the washers that you dremel down the end of the inside sleeve and these eventually rotate/pop off. You only need to remove the INSIDE ONES ONLY! not t he larger outside ones (in the pic, I should have left the bottom washer attached).
    LCA 1.jpg

I ended up using a ball joint press to get the bushings out (the large press didnt have the adapter to fit the odd shaped LCA). the BJP and vice were all I used.
    LCA 2.jpg

What the rubber bushing looks like after it has popped out of the "outer" metal sleeve (which NEEDS to be retained in the LCA for installation of the ES one)
    LCA 3.jpg

I tried burning the inner one out without catching it all on fire...this didnt work. It went up in flames BUT I learned that heating up the inner sleeve BEFORE catching the rubber/glue on fire makes it all melt right off and I had this inner sleeve free from the rubber in 3 minutes of work. Def need to remember that KEY FACT for the next LCA.
    LCA 4.jpg

Just the inner metal sleeve once it is burned out of the rubber bushing (this sleeve SHOULD have one of the washers still attached but this was the first one I did and removed the wrong washer first, which made me take both off for this sleeve. The rear bushing on the driver LCA retained one of the washers which is the correct way to do it). I still pressed both washers back on this with no issue).
    LCA 5.jpg

Rinse and repeat for the rear bushing and you have one LCA complete!
    LCA 6.jpg

I did this all with the MAP gas (Bernzomatic) torch, ball joint press, Dremel, vice and regular mechanic's tools. The job could definitely be done in that same amount of time (but both LCAs) if I had to do it again from scratch. Also used this oppurtunity to grease up the cam bolts to continue preventing them from seizing. The ES bushings also come with a grease for all of the bushings you install.

Hope this helps someone else in the future!

Today I tackled the fuel pump swap from the stock to a Walbro 255. This has prepped the field for the S/C install (hopefully in the coming week(s) and put the filter external to the tank for easier changing [the stock pump and filter are co-located in the fuel tank itself]). The instructions with URD are pretty well thought out and self explanatory. I ran into 2 questions with the directions (one I figured out, one I called Gadget at URD and he explained. The confusion came from my lack of knowledge on what "vent" or inner vs outer tube was being referenced in the step for the internal pump). Dropping the gas tank isnt too hard with a lift and a xmsn jack. I chose not to lift the bed since I had access to the other equipment.

The job took me and a friend (@Kappes03) about 5.5 hours to do, but it was both of our first times dropping a tacoma fuel tank and messing with the internal pump.
    Pump 1.jpg

We had a TON of cleaning to do on the tank to make sure no debris fell back into it.

After removing the pump housing, we were able to take the old out, cut some wires, drop the new Walbro 255 in, secure it, splice the power/neg wires and pack it all up.
    Pump 2.jpg

The fuel filter for this is external to the tank and runs inline on the high pressure hose going to the engine. After adding that, if there are no leaks, thats the last step before reconnecting the battery, relay, and starting the truck followed by checking for leaks.
    Pump 3.jpg

Glad its over. Its a pain to do but would be much easier now that I've done it once. If you are doing a similar project and have questions, dont hesitate to hit me up.

Thanks again Mike for lending the hand!

if anyone is looking to get rid of any stock wheels (or even if I could find two spare steelies) I will be more than happy to take them off your hands. Looking for 2 wheels (w/ tires is fine, or without) for the trailer build. I was able to get the 6x5.5 hubs on the axle today. Of course, willing to pay for wheels. If you have any or know of anyone, feel free to let me know!

Mocked up the vertical supports for the 2nd part of the frame. Should be picking up the axle and suspension Friday :fingerscrossed:

@lowinhz How tall are your side walls? These are 33" and they seem pretty tall...Not sure if I should cut off 4-6" or not????
