probably because you weren't invited...4wd only...AND locker required

(I can say that now haha)

    :boink:

lol, jk of course. as of now its a pipe dream and only in the talking phase. Although it would be something really cool if we could make it happen, in which case I'm sure you'll hear about it ;)

    I HAVE A LOCKER NOW.

But you wouldn't know because you don't come around anymore. I'm pretty well done except 4wd and I graduate in 2018 so that may not be too far off ;)

Got the new workbench top in today. 4'x2'x1.5" Maple. I cut to fit the top so its secure. Also took the time to bolt the vise to it. Very pleased with the end result. Should last a lifetime for that station.

Decided to knock out some maintenance and inspect my tie rods since I figured they were starting to go out.

Both Inner TRE's flop around like a limp noodle with zero resistance, the outers have a little resistance to them but im replacing them anyway. Went with Moog inner and outer TRE's (the outers are greasable which should help push bad grease out when re-lubing) Thanks @Robertocritser and @allmotorrex .

Re-greased my UCA's and cleaned them off since this was WAY over due.

clean on the right vs dirty on the left. Also re-lubed the uniballs. Second time ever doin it really since I bought them 2.5-3 yrs ago
    UCA Busing Clean vs Dirty.jpg

I loosened the long bolt before greasing to make sure as much new/fresh grease filled the bushing. I guess I put a lot too much and it wouldnt come out when tightening down the bolt to spec
    UCA Busing 1.jpg

    UCA Busing 2.jpg

Ended up removing the zerk fitting to give it room to escape
This is the not so bulging one:
    UCA Busing 4.jpg

This is from the bushing pictured:
    UCA Busing 3.jpg

at least I got a ton of the old nasty grease out. After releasing all that pressure, all the bushings went back to normal.

got it all put back together and ready to do my TRE's this week.

How are you liking the front locker? Thinking I might do it when I gear.

I got it locked in the rear. Gideon thought I did the front too. Maybe I accidentally slipped and said front one time. Now with the rear locked, i love it! On my last trip out I went with 2 other people; one was open/open. I saw the drastic difference it made engaging it and crawling up things slow and controlled with no slipping vs my old struggle bus routine at hitting the same spot for 5-10 min trying to get through an obstacle haha

Ah, I remember reading that now. lol fooled me too I guess. Love having my rear locked, just thinking about the front since it will be convenient when I gear.

yea, when I was looking into it, a lot of people who had front and rear done used the front mayb 15-20% of the time only (based off when they had the rear engaged also). to me, I knew I wouldnt lock the front after seeing those numbers. If I was doing more insane things or really "overlanding" the truck then maybe. but for my application, the front locked would prob be a waste of $$$$. Ill put it towards LT or supercharger (or v8 swap) haha
