    The new project:

    1979 C3 Corvette

This was my uncle’s first car in high school. It was last driven in 1989 and has been sitting my my grandparents barn ever since. Fortunately it has been out of most weather. The plan is to get it driving again after nearly 3 decades of “resting” haha

This will be my first restoration, and we’ll see if it’ll be my last!

(A project of my uncle’s is this trailer that he is/was building. I was also offered it to rebuild if I wanted to, but one project at a time)

Looks like a pretty simple resto to me! A good deep cleaning and a few parts and youll be up and running in no time! Looks pretty rust free body wise which is a huge bonus.

Yea, my thoughts too. My huge concerns were body damage (none :) ) and rust (really nothing more than MAYBE some minor surface rust in a few places in the on the side of the frame, but nothing deep or penetrating).

The real test will be once I pull it out, wash it, and get it back to my home and raised up so I can creep underneath it to inspect

It looks like an automatic? And probably just a 350 so even if the drive train is no good a replacement will be pretty simple (and cheap) to get!

It is an auto with the L48 350 motor. My uncle did have it rebuilt in ‘85 and put a mild cam in it to push about 195hp. I’m looking to probably keep the 350 but do some performance mods to the intake manifold, carb, etc to bring it up to speed a little. I THINK I can get around 300hp out of it. Also plan on swapping the auto for a 4 speed xmsn (more fun to drive).

    We shall see haha

    I’m thinking 35’s as well

Thank you, I appreciate ya taking the time and checking it out

    Things, stuff, and whatnot.
Destroke it, and wind it up to about 9k rpms. Or stroke it, and twist driveshafts in half.

I’d rather go for the latter haha

I’d prefer to keep/increase the tq and I’m not sure I have a true need (or desire) to rev that high lol

Thanks! I’m gonna need it. And this is def gonna be a slow process since I’ll be learning almost the entire project, but I’m eager to start and excited to see it driving again.
