anyone have a lot of slack on one side of tailgate in the wires that hold it up? One is taught the other loose. Even when sitting on it the one side is a littler looser. Don’t want one wire bearing too much of the load at a time.

One support cable will support more weight than the sheet metal of the tailgate.

    is your tailgate twisted?

Are both cables the same length?

Do the truck side mount points measure in the same position on both sides? Like from the bed floor up and the bed top down.

Do the gate side mount points measure in the same position on both sides?

To solve your mystery you have to know more about what's actually wrong.

Something is twisted somewhere. Either the tailgate, or the bed.

THE spacing on my rear bumper is also off. Might be an alignment issue. Take it in?

Sounds like a twisted frame or bed, so yeah.

Misaligned beds (like bed-cab measurements) are off on several 3rd gens around here. Which would make the bumper look off.

Easy fix, loosen bed bolts and adjust.

But the tailgate is part of the bed, so that would not be affected by that. Something else there.

But yea, warranty. Why not. It's one reason most folks pay the big bucks.
