Hey I don't blame you for reporting that. As soon as it was said I think the guilty party had a change of heart, atleast in posting it publicly. No one deserves to be disrespected in such a way. However I feel after that was made the thread continued without a hitch. Which is all I am getting at. If it were locked right after it was said I would not have given it a second thought but I feel the thread managed fine.

Oh and man this thing got out of wack.

Let me remind you'll that the mods are ordinary working class people with families. We are all employed full time, have families, young children and some with special-needs children. We do the best we can do, to volunteer and dedicate our time in the best interest of this community. We cannot and may not respond to all alerts instantaneously. Some may take hours and some may take days as we prioritize issues, as we judge fit.

We try to adopt a hands off approach to moderating the forums here at TW and try to let the members run TW. However, time and time again some members continue to prove they cannot be a part of civilized society or cry out for moderator intervention exactly when I’m performing a breast examination on the Swedish blond next door. Some of the conditions you’ll create for yourselves, the self inflicted gun shot injuries and the ensuing alerts/reports are erection killers, let me tell ya. So hurriedly, it’s easier to lock a thread than to sift through a ton of hot air and to baby sit a bunch of irresponsible adults busy mooning each other.

It’s in your hands! If you’ll want NO moderator intervention, you have the power to make that happen. Be polite and friendly to fellow members. Ensure your thread subjects are not controversial with an intent of starting a crap storm. Don’t violate the code of conduct. If you spot a dick, report it. If we spot one, we’ll circumcise it.

In conclusion, it is the moderator’s responsibility to keep Tacoma World clean, friendly and respectable. We will not tolerate attacks and insults aimed at an individual, an ethnic community or a group of people. Consider sensitivities of all those who form this community including those outside the US borders. If the moderators have reason to believe that a topic, post or a member may affect the reputation of Tacoma World, they will act accordingly and use their discretion to rectify the situation. Its our modus operandi.

Thank you for reading and we hope you enjoy your time here at Tacoma World.

BTW Ed, we got multiple reports on that thread. You can't take all the fame on this one. Sorry.

Don't take offense to that as I understand and think ya'll are the best. This was just to bring to attention that this 1 thread in particular had gone on just fine without the mods intervention. When it was locked conversation was casual. I think the guilty party could have been spoken with as opposed to locking the thread. His comment can be removed and no one would be the wiser. Without that extremely negative remark you have to admit having this many people disagree in a civil way is just amazing.

what I meant by when the mod got the message is just that, at the time you noticed it weather it be right away or a week later, you look over the thread and make the call. I personally think if a report is made and then the thread goes 10 pages more with no issue then its just that not an issue.

Oh and Ed i'm sure others didn't like his comment. I certainly didn't. I say use the report button, I have before and will again.
