Tire light has been on since I had the Falken M/Ts mounted. Finally found out why yesterday. Felt like the vibes were worse so I jacked up the front end and started checking all the usual culprits. Maybe a tiny bit of play in the upper control arms I thought, then I rolled the passenger wheel and I hear something rolling around inside the wheel... Took it to Discount tire, told them the light's been on since I had them mount the wheels. They scan them and only 2 are reporting, one's reporting 0 though, so it's probably dead. I tell them I heard something rolling around inside my wheel, 2 hours later they finally get it out and rebalance my wheel. Feels much better. Now the vibes only feel like the tread of the tires, no more out of balance feeling.

Our discount tire has gone downhill, I always call ahead, they always assure me they will get it done quickly, but it's never quick. Even if you made an appointment. Last time I came in for the dismount and mount of my 5 newer M/Ts and it took them 2 days after they told me to wait in store it'd get done that day. I ended up having to take off the next day and wait for my wife to bring me in so I could pick it up. When I first bought tires with them, back in 2019 I believe, they were quick, and I never waited around very long. They were even quick to get me in for 5 tire rotate and balances for a time. These past 2 years have been much different.

Also they ditched half the seating in the place for a wheel display.... Doesn't help when you have people waiting and no where to sit.
I think it's just a show of no one wants to work in the service industry anymore. It doesn't pay enough, and the work is hard.

just a couple of things tbh
ya they have gone downhill a bit sadly... ive talked to the manager there (he was the dude that helped me with the grey tacomas messed up tires) and asked why stuff is getting worse.. all he had to say was they lost a lot of good workers and got a lot of kids that dont exactly know what they are doing or tbh really care... which sucks since its right next to both of us so easy to get stuff taken care of.

also heeey i took you up there to get your truck lmao

Truck is still throwing the occasional SAIS code. Hewitt wants me to buy a sim-sensor which is $250 sticker price. Hard pass. Gonna have to do a deep dive into the details behind HP tuners for these trucks.

Did some digging and you can go into the DTCs and turn off reporting. Sounds like I'll be able to do the full delete with it. Now I just gotta scrounge some pennies for the $599.99 for the tuner + 4 credits.
Might pick your brain at that point @Shellshock for some tips on tuning.

There’s probably someone in KC with hp
Tuners so you could just pay the credits and a few bucks

Adventure Motors does them, but they won't touch the DTC's according to 'Overland Tailor Tuning' who they get the HP Tuner kits and tunes through.

Flatbed is off the table again. Big Body Truck Co decided to pull back on their DIY kits and only offer pull-in built-to-order directly on your truck only. Not sure what the move was there or if they were having trouble sourcing freight shipping/insurance. Definitely not driving this pig all the way to California just to buy a flatbed I could assemble in my driveway.

This build is as dead as my will to work on the truck anymore lol
I'm paying someone to replace my steering rack and LCA bushings next week. I don't want to fight the damn thing. If that doesn't fix it, guess I'll buy the stupid intermediate shaft.

If that doesn't work. I'm going scorched earth and shelling out for the JD Fab pivots. Wallet be damned.
