This build goes at a snails pace! Just wait till I pay the truck off! Then I'll have some more fun money. that $500/month can go into parts :D:spending:

If you can pay it off early get rid of that extra interest you're paying.

I am, paying it off in 3 more years. rather than a 15 year loan lol My payments are less than $500, I'm just paying more. Less if I throw some tax returns at it.

Updates on the AVS in channels. None catch anymore aside from the occasional bump of the drivers door one. I might've put that one off a little or something because it was the first one I installed.

I bought the weather tech in channel ones and had no issues. Why were they catching?

I don't know. Maybe my window channel is just weird. It caught the first few times rolling up, you can see in the pictures where it hit and crunched the lip a little. It hasn't caught since, it just pushes it out of the way now. It buffed. Maybe I'll get some fine grit sandpaper and just knock that white of the end and no one will ever have to know.

So, I mightve put in a bid on a 2004 4x4 XCLB that got T-boned....Only damage I could see was a door and a fender and a little to the cab. nothing that I couldn't round out a bit with a hammer. Runs and drives. Will see. LOL

Also the wife said I could buy some truck parts with next years tax refund

Planning to pull the tailgate apart this weekend after a stop at HF for some Torx socket bits. Then I can finally finish my Tailgate reinforcement design and maybe make the first prototype by next months Taco Meet.
Wedding is next Sunday too. Times flying. Bring on Colorado and the Honeymoon!

What are your thoughts of putting some UHMWPE skinned over a metal reinforcement?

As a pad to the top? Would probably get torn up by heavy use, but would probably make a good seat.

As like a skid like what the factory plastic piece is and our bed is made out of. UHMWPE is pretty tough stuff and if it gets messed up I could replace it easily.

I'm in for a tailgate reinforcement when you get it done. You can use mine as a test mule if ya want....
