Lots of things, was going to be working with a guy to print out a prototype for a shortened, or replacement cap for the shark fin antenna but he partnered with UpTop and Meso.

Back burner. I'm too tired to even think about it right now, and I'll be working all weekend...

    I need a vacation :(

I need at least a week of just sleep to catch up to be fair. Everyday my brain feels like it's in a fog lately.

Mine is Work 12 days straight, camp 2 days, work 12 days straight, 2 days off, rinse repeat (except the camping). then I gotta work on a bunch of house stuff and not lose my sanity in the free time.

OH! Get this, we had a guy come out to quote doing the back door (the french doors) and he quoted $5000!??!? WTF. It's a prehung door....
i'm just gonna pay off this shed and then throw the doors on the Lowes Card. 14 months 0% interest and done. We also decided to not get the ones with Blind in the glass because they fade and are a pain if they break. We already have curtains there so it's a no brainer to just save $300 and get a non-blind set.

I felt like that with every quote I got for various stages of finishing my basement. No matter how small the job...minimum 1k...

Yeah. It's a freaking prehung door. It'll take like 2 hours and a few beers with a buddy. :notsure:

Should I do anything special while I have the old slider pulled out? Spray foam any gaps, I'm guessing I'll need some shims, and anything special for flashing/siding? I'll try to snag a picture one of these days of the existing sliding glass door in and out. (If I remember)

I changed a slider to french doors by myself...yes it was a PIA...but I got it done. Ours went out to a deck so it needed drip flashing on the bottom and the outside hole was actually taller than the new prehung door. So I had to patch that over also.

@Slashaar, do your self a big favor and make sure that you double check the height of your new door when you order it. Changing the framed opening size is not an impossible task, but why make work that can be avoided. I've never made the mistake, but have seen it done before.

I am sure that @OZ-T can offer you some good suggestions for rain/weatherproofing the install. We don't really worry to much about penetrating rain in our high desert area, we just bed the door's threshold in silicone caulk and make sure that we have a good drip flashing on the top of the install. Ohhh.......and a quality 6 foot level helps.

Then when all is said and done sit back, relax, and enjoy the new French Door (and a beer).

This stuff is the shit Op! It you are putting the french doors anywhere that you may have water seeping through, put this stuff on and and you will be golden. We used it on our 2nd story french doors that leads to the terrace.

*Edit. Replaces the old school pig skin backing that you would use in showers etc

Slider R/O and double french door RO typically are different . Might want to double check everything before you yank out the slider

Got to agree:thumbsup: If memory serves me right, it is possible to order some French doors in the lower height to fit in the old slider opening.
