So I searched, but could not find anything on this. I’m building out my sleeping platform in my shell for a multi-week camping trip this fall. Which way is everyone sleeping on their platform and why? Head near the cab or head near the tailgate. I’m leaning towards head near the cab, but if a case can be made the other way, I’m all ears.

I sleep with my head uphill so depends on how I'm parked.

Definitely with the head up hill, and I prefer a view out of the rear shell window, to me it just feels better.

I camp in the bed of my truck inside my softtopper (so much easier than setting up a tent every time, I'm 5'11" so I fit perfectly in the 6ft bed). I always go head towards cab but I agree about having your head pointed uphill if you're parked on one.

Head towards cab, and feet at tailgate. Makes getting out so much easier, without having to twist and turn around.

Head toward the cab, gives you a headboard and your feet stay near where you take your shoes off.

Head uphill is a must, so I park on flat or with the front uphill.

Head near cab. It's easier to slide in and out without putting your feet where your head is going to be. It also makes sense on the off chance someone tries to open the rear.

head toward the tailgate. I'm 6'2" so I tend to hang out a little.
