This spring I got a Leer XR for my 2017 OR (no photos yet!). Next on the agenda for me is building a sleeping platform and drawer system. I will be looking to do something kind of funky with part of the platform being removable so I can have a dog kennel back there occasionally (I have another in the back seat).

I am mulling over designs but can't decide what I want to cover the platform with.
-I don't want it to get hot
-I don't want it to get mouldy (I will be dumping wet stuff like snowy skis on it all winter)
-I don't want it to collect dog hair and dirt

In my last truck I used duradek vinyl but didn't wrap it and it peeled at edges eventually. Any other materials I should consider?

Looks like you have a short bed. Can you fit back there?

Yes, some benefits to being short! I sleep on a diagonal and can stretch out fine. I usually sleep in a tent when camping, but like to have the option to sleep in there on rare occasions. A lot of the benefit of the platform for me is organizing and storing my SAR and dog gear below that I carry around at all times out of sight if someone peers in windows.

Maybe plexiglass? Or some sort of plastic sheeting with a more grippy surface. I just used plywood and painted it with several thick coats of exterior primer and paint.

Thinking outside the box (ironic, I know). Could you go with some sort of flooring? Tile would be heavy and fragile. What about wood? My old house had a bunch of laminate flooring. Pretty thin and light, fairly durable, and easy clean up.
