    A lot of this info is like reading Japanese. I know little of what you guys are relating.
    I was told by Darton they’d sleeve the block. Reason is for the stage 3 sc.
    if it’s not worth the cost and hassle, might as well just build the motor with better internals and keep it n/a?
    Picked up a motor from @mightytacoman drop in ready. I’ll use that for now till I figure what I should do. I am planning to sc it. Stage 2?

    Don't sleeve the block that has damaged main journals. Worthless. They would have to be machine true, then bearings would have to be sourced. That will likely be the harder part.

    However, if oversized main journal bearings can be found, then it can work. I find this a much lower percentage a possibility.

    not rocket science

    Sleeving REMOVES metal from an already weak block

    blocks move around even when stock

    they Move even more when overbored or sleeved..................resulting in components

    MISaligning & tolerances distorting

    U can handle that

    The sleeves job completely removes the oem cylinders. Which are of the open deck design. The Darton M.I.D. (Modular Intergrated Deck) then fit tightly in the block acting like a closed deck block. Adding rigidity.

    I understand what U say

    not in ANY attempting to undercut what U do

    any reputable engine will tell U a fact in reality

    a brand new virgin block moves around !!

    a block bored or sleeved moves around

    most engine builders realizing thats a fact in reality

    rather deal with a seasoned block...................brand new out the crate AINT SEASONED

    its a minor thought concept removing metal weakens the block

    many seldom run engines MAXED out for a few seconds at a time

    endurance raced for years

    getting ANY engine to hold together for 6......8 ........12 & 24 hours this is a MAJOR Consideration

    E V E RY component reaches heat soak street engine NEVER gets to

    that a drag engine NEVER gets to..................EVER
