So my Full Race Pcv delete showed up and I got it installed. Just need my coil and install the guage. Then it's a matter of figuring out my bumper and fix the gas cap and it'll be back to normal. If I can get it tuned I talked to my wife about going to TX2k this year.

Yea joys of only DI. That's why the Gen 2 can do e85 with a lot easier.

Yea it would be fun to go and detail the truck before going. I'm working with a guy in Florida. Use to work for SCT as their main tuner for can tunes. Does an amazing job on the Ecoboost and a lot of solid builds use him over the fan crazy tuning companies. Awesome dude to talk to too. Probably the best relationship to come out of this truck.

Started this yesterday but haven't finished yet. Been taking my time while parts I need come in. I misplaced my the O2 harness for my AEM wideband/boost guage and it won't be here until Tuesday I think.

My vacuum guage and electrical connectors show up tomorrow so I can at least get power to the guage and use it for boost. Cool thing is this guage has a USB cable for me to plug into and adjust it how I want. NOS guage I bought last year for this truck.

Once they show up it should give me something to do before the coil gets here around 2 or 3. Already know where to tap for the dimmer switch and which fuse for the 5v source.

Coil is out for delivery and should be here in about an hour. Waiting on the rest of my stuff too to get here.

My O2 harness shipped too and will be here Thursday

Coil installed and guage is working. Everything seems to be good based on the shakedown run I did. Now I can finally start datalogging and send them to the tuner

Oh yea. Now that this isn't a daily but a "drive when I want" truck I can take my time getting things done. I'm in no rush to datalog but will do it this week. Already detailing the engine bay too

Thank you sir. I hope so too. Took my wife and son for a trip to the store and to get dinner tonight and overall impressions were good. If we can fix the smoking than the truck is cool for what it is. Needs a resonator for sure but overall it's a good weekend truck.

 

Is it only smoking from condensation for a short while, or continually smoking from oil?

 

Assuming that you fixed some PCV issues, you may be blowing less oil through the intake. Which would then mean that in a short period of time, any residual oil left in the intake tracks, should blow out.

Interestingly enough, while I was removing the charge pipes from that EcoBoost this past weekend, I took a look in side. Sure enough, there was oil collected in that pipe. All OEM. Which means it was in the intercooler and everywhere else.

Yours is now more refined than that, so I imagine yours now should have less a problem.

 

When I stop and idle for a little bit it'll start to smoke. I think there is just residual oil in the exhaust. Short of taking it all apart and cleaning it out it just needs to burn off I think.

Something to help combat the oil from getting past the intercooler is to drill a small weep hole in the intercooler at the lowest point. Has helped a ton of guys including myself. My cpe intercooler has pepcocks to help drain and my full race intercooler (currently in the truck) sits so high I don't have that issue anymore

 

Time will tell, but I agree. Need some good pulls to heat things up and accelerate the process.
