I might of missed someone. is anyone else interested in wheeling the trail in from the south, since the thru. guys will have camp spot held down. im leaving sac in the AM so im thinking of grabbing lunch somewhere on hwy 4 then hit the trail. I could come up thru night, if im coming up alone, still waiting on a friend to commit or not

I am leaning toward Thursday, will prob leave around noon though (from Mountain View). Want to get to Mattley Meadow before linking up with the Corral Hollow crew, I got blocked by a snow drift on that loop last month just when it was starting to get good. I can drive pretty easily at night, so I will find the crew if I don't see you at the junction of 7N11 and 7N88Y (even though the MVUM shows a lot of trails in that area as not existing, I will have my chainsaw with me).

I will be on 146.460 and cb16 listening for chatter.

We'll be going in via 7N35 from Bear Valley. We'll probably be ~2.5 miles up the road from CA-4. Instead of meeting us up there why not jump on and meet up with a few of us at Snowshoe Brewery? We'd only be about 30 minutes away from Bear Valley, and then another 15 minutes or so from CA-4 to camp for the night.

Would the easiest way up be to turn off at Spicer Meadow Rd and head up past Utica Reservoir?

I believe this is the campsite give or take.

Easiest route in would be to take CA-4 up to W. Lake Alpine Rd, which will turn into Forest Rte 7N17, and then you'll hit Slick Rock.

Thanks!! Is it pretty tame coming in that way??

I'll be up there Saturday morning, hopefully make it to camp by 9 am or earlier. I'll be staying overnight and heading out on Sunday.

Not even gonna kid, two years ago I saw a minivan about a mile in. If a minivan can get that far in, you'll be fine. All the hard stuff starts after base camp.

 Would have been funnier if it was one of those. Definitely was a stock minivan though.

Will see when I actually get out on the road. If I can somehow get out early then see you in the mountains, if I can't then see you at Snowshoe. If I get the shaft, see you on the trail on Friday.

Alright. Meet up time is 5PM right now, but subject to change. I'll make a final announcement about time and whatnot tomorrow afternoon-ish.

I'm hoping to leave work a lil early to make it at 5. We have a site in angels camp, so I should be able to make that my last stop for work and head out from there.
