On a side note, how do you like them? I'm local so avoiding shipping cost is my main reason for going with them.

No complaints at all. I ordered them bare metal and painted them myself so I can't speak for their powder coated versions. They were pretty easy to install and are holding up fine. The welds and overall build quality are great.

Edit: BTW I also have a full set of under armor from them. Front skid, LCA, tranny, front/rear diff., gas tank. All were as advertised, promptly delivered, and no complaints about any of it.

    Relevant topic for me!

I am going w/o the top plates.

We have dogs and for now, they can jump into the truck.

Haven't ordered yet but RCI folks are AWESOME!

For our needs, we are going with the 5 degrees without powder coating and leaving it at that.

Flame on...but with the wheeling that I will do, I will be taking the sliders off every season and will make them work for us.

Give RCI a call if you have ???'s

They are ready, willing, and able to answer any questions.

I got top plates on mines. No ragrets (sic)
If you have or planning to have little kids, it's almost a must. And depending on the manufacturer, some of the sliders look amateur/unfinished without them.
My opinion, of course. It's all subjective.

Can I ask how the install process was? Is it possible solo?

I ordered rock sliders from a local fab shop.. the quality is top notch but i opted to get a filler for my top plate, not the whole slider.. Can’t wait til their finish.. deciding to sell my Predator Steps before I bend them off roading 20919432-4248-4403-B1A0-B28BEE5D7AD2.jpg60A17083-1459-4B9A-8360-DB01FEFB2D9A.jpg

I've had my sliders for over 2 years and I stand them a lot and never have wished I got the top plates. If you're worried about slipping you can always put some adhesive grip tape on them too. Best part is I paid 280 shipped for my weld ons.

I would say no. When I was in the market for sliders a wheelin buddy recommended to pass on the top plate. Reason being is the plain sliders can easily have a tow strap passed through them.

Long story short one of the first outings in the snow involved tow strap through the sliders to prevent sliding into a ditch. Your mileage may vary.

I have had both with and without fill plates. I can tell that from my experience with is much better.

Without fill plates even with skate board tape on the sliders once it got muddy it was useless. I slipped many times, and a couple times almost twisted my ankle slipping and then clipping the support with the side of my boot.

My new sliders have fill plates and it make is much more stable to step on and seems to not accumulate stuff on top of the slider.

My non fill plate set were 20 degree, my new set is 10 degree.

Those look just like the ones a local guy makes....I wish I went that route. I ended up getting some all pro bolt ons that I have yet to bolt on....a bunch of drilling, no enough time.

    Great looking truck!
Which front bumper did you go with.....did you change the rear?

Thanks. I went with CBI's front bumper because a local shop had them in stock (no 12 week lead time) and no shipping cost. For the rear bumper I went with ATH's (at the helm) high clerance rear bumper w/swing arm. I just ordered it so I haven't received/installed it yet but it looks like this. Similar to CBI's but different.

Was there a functional reason you went with ath over the cbi?

It seems that none of these bumpers work with the BSM system, which is a bunner.

Yes. I installed them solo. I had the help of a rolling floor jack though. I just got it balanced in the center with some short two by fours. Rolled it into place and jacked it up to put in the easiest to get to bolts. Once one is started it's easy to do the rest. There are some holes where you'll need to temporarily move some things out of the way inside the frame but they give very good instructions and it's not complicated. I wanted to be able to jack the truck up with a hi-lift so I drilled some extra holes to strengthen it. That was the hardest part of the install.

I got mine from https://www.c4fabrication.com/ . It works with BSM. They use plastic inserts at the corners where the radar thingy bolts on. The problem is that it won't work through metal so a workaround has to be used. You can order just the bumper itself or add the swingout and table and stuff.

They stopped offering bsm compatible bumpers because people were having all sorts of issues with them.

    Workin' on it....
    ^^^^ Agree with this guy.

Since you live in a winter state, sand, snow +/- road salt is going to get plugged up in the crevices of the top plates and will cause rust. Don't be surprised if the powder coat or paint job doesn't hold up too long and you are redoing everything every couple of years.

I went without fill plates and frequently use the sliders as a step - never slipped a foot through. My dog, I help hoist into the back seat but that's easy enough.
