Who sells sliders on the East coast?

 

IMO do not worry about where they are made and shipping cost. Get what you need, and they might even come from Cali. or wherever. Do basic needs analysis first and go from there.

I started wheeling long before there were any such things as "sliders" and even auto locking hubs (couldn't trust the damn things when they first came out) but of course you beat the heck out of your rockers. IMO it depends where you wheel and what you NEED to accomplish.

For me it is the Canadian shelf that rears her ugly head from time to time but much more so it is trees. Lateral slides into trees when mud and ice will not support you on the 2 tracks. So I want all the width I can get. Think about it, your sliding on a downhill slope and the truck is angled when it is sliding so it is exposing the body at a dangerous angle. Most dents can be taken out but if you hit the corner post of the bed your screwed. That is why I want kickout protection, not to careen off rocks which would have been nice in many places when I was living out West but to provide protection to my truck against what I experience when I am off road where I live currently. And up and down the Appalachians in the East that is also what I needed.

I wear a suit to work now (yes I do miss wearing coveralls!). And I have zero offset sliders from 4Xinnovations and have no problem getting my suit pants dirty or with slipping from my dress leather soled boots and shoes. Most of which are Shell Cordovan, I have a strong liking for horseflesh for my leather. And the dog likes them for climbing in and out of the truck to chase birds. Only had them on for 2 weeks but it is the season, bird hunting season, and I love the hell out of them so far. I haven't slid into anything yet with them and with proper judgement hope I will not. But it is only a matter of time before I do, and the probability is that I am protected unless the angle of the tree leaning into me and it is too great.

 

What would be the best slider option that sticks out least from the cab, bolt on, and basically looks. I like the look of the slider WAY more than a nerf bar or anything like that but I don't need the functionality of one.

 

AVID Off Road

 

Still trying to decide what to get for my '14 DCLB. I originally was just going to get some cheap 150-200 dollar nerf bars in black power coat, but now I kinda want something beefier. I checked out Aries new Alumalite 4 inch ovals, but they are still around 400 bux shipped. With that price I can just get a nice bolt on slider, but still want it to be use as a step in.
The one that i like the the most seems to be the demello rock crushers since they are square /flat easy to step on to get in. Any suggestions? Thanks!

just ordered BAMF bolt on sliders for a DCSB 2014 I would like to get all pro full length skids but I'm concerned that the bolt ons will interfere with the installation of the skids. does anybody use BAMF sliders with all-pro skids?

 

I just installed my HD-SKO sliders and I love them.
I chose these because they sit a bit lower than some of the other manufacturers, which helps my daughter get in the truck once I added some small strips of grip tape to the "step".


Stubbs Welding was great to work with... communication was great, shipping was fair and shipped in one week. The product was perfectly finished, ready for powder coat, and square...yes square!!

Alignment/Square:
One of the weld on scab plates butts up against a rivet on my 2013 Taco, which sets the forward and aft position relatively well. We then placed the bottom of the scab plates just above the top of the radius on the bottom of the frame C-channel...This resulted in a perfect alignment to the truck and all scab plates sitting flat on the frame on the first tack weld...What a relief not having to dick with them to get them to sit flat and square!!

I think a lot of the manufacturers listed are good. However, I just wanted to share my experience with Stubbs.

Next ...I think I may drill and tap them next as a air reservoir for my new ARB Compressor that I installed this weekend! Yes, I know this can be dangerous

Anyone tried out Rolling Big Power (RBP) steps?

I really wanted these, as I have several RBP parts, including grill... However, these steps bolt to the body and will not support the weight of the truck for rock sliding or high lift jacking....as far as STEPS go... They are the best steps on the market... IMHO.



In the end I opted for welded sliders, as I will use them for lifting and sliding.

 

I want those sliders. Who makes them and where do I get them?
