Is there a chance of it buckling or is it pretty safe?

Depends on who made them. You'd probably want to check with the manufacturer. Some bolt on sliders you can use a hi lift and some you cant... supposedly.

I believe Pelfreybilt is one. When I get a set it will be through them most likely. I've got one of their hybrid front bumpers and love it. Plus they're a great company to work with.

What is the significance of drawn over mandrel (DOM) sliders? and why are they so much more expensive?

The tubing itself is stronger. Its the stuff roll cages are made from.

Trail-gear rock sliders rattle-canned and welded to frame. I chose not to powder coat because I fully expect to put these bad boys to the test.

Totally agree with rattle canning over PC for sliders. I paint mine at least twice a year.

I continue to be on the fence b/w sliders and steps. My main reason for them is for my kiddos / dogs / short wife - my Taco certainly isn't a trail rig yet. However, don't they make some good ones that are filled in so you could use them as steps, as well? I see some pictures on here, but there are 50 billion different kinds, so first-hand recommendations would be awesome.

    Two birds with one stone?

This is one of the main reasons I got them too, so my wife could get in the truck after it was lifted. Being a 2015 with 7000 miles I'm not exactly eager to bash it on boulders quite yet. As it ages I'll become more willing to trail it some more. However I didn't want to get flimsy running boards and then have to buy sliders later.

I'm running the Shrockworks bolt ons and they're top notch. See my build thread page for more info.

So far so good, its been on about 5 months. Looks fine. Whenever it gets gross looking I'll peel it off with a heat gun and put down a fresh set in the same place.

Bamf makes sliders with fill plates. @SCSPerformance has a set on his truck. He likes it. Hit up Jerry and see what options work for you.

Probably one of the less custom shops like all pro. A lot of the custom shops are doing just that, custom work which extends delivery time.

Thanks for the info. Looks like all pro doesn't do powder coating which is something that I'm also looking for
