image.jpg Finally got my sliders in, turned out to be well worth the wait. Ordered the Allpro HD but they made the APEX and sent those instead. The place I ordered from (Tacoma town in cochrane) said it's a free upgrade since they didn't want to keep me waiting for another order :yay:

I originally wanted the APEX but couldn't justify the extra $300 since both do the job for me. I'll post more pictures of the progress and finished product later.

Paint question. I started by using thinner in a spray bottle and microfiber cloths to clean the sliders. After wiping them down thoroughly I sanded them with 220 grit sand paper. Then thinner and wipe down again and again until clean. Used an air duster before first coat of primer. Here are the materials I'm using.
    image.jpg

I did 2 coats of primer using 3 cans with a day between first and second coat.
    image.jpg

Question is..After letting the second coat dry for 2 hours, I was able to scratch off the primer with my finger nail. Is that normal? I've read that this rustoleum primer should bond well. Any input is appreciated.

I wanna say the cure time on a self etching primer is way longer than 2 hours, maybe up to 24 hours. I'd check the back of the can. As nice as those are, I'd consider powder coating them.

Back of the can says half an hour under ideal conditions. I waited a day after first coat and was able to scratch that off. I'm just not sure now if I should go ahead with the bed liner tomorrow or sand and start over. I considered powder coating but chose this route for the convenient touch up when needed.

Primer is not a top coat so it is usually soft. You are doing everything correctly, so I say top coat it and you will begins to go.

Anyone know what to do with the brake lines after installing the Allpro apex sliders?

Got my @Pelfreybilt bolt on sliders installed this evening. Ordered them through Tacoma Town in Cochrane and had them powder coated in town. Relatively simple install. Only issue was the bolts being a bit short making it difficult to get the thread started. Took my wife and I about 2 hours.

I got my All-Pro Bed bars in that same order from Kyle. It took forever to get them but worth the wait. I just wish I didnt get them powder coated by them as they did get a bit scratched and scuffed in the shipping process.

Kyle is awesome. Ive been dealing with him for about a year now and he really knows his stuff.

I actually haven't had a chance to get out wheeling much. Ive been out in Waiperous a few times but nothing crazy. Im mostly using the truck to get out of town so that I can feed my skiing/hiking/scrambling addiction. Im hoping to get out more now that i have things setup though. Im hoping to get out with Tacoma town/Kyle one of these days to meet some people.

Im pretty sure I may have seen you around town. Around Aspen/Westside?

I live in Mckenzie lake. Haven't been around the Aspen area in a while. I've done a lot of trips to Waiparous and now Mclean since it's open.. PM me if you wanna set up a trip. I go out once or twice a month.

Who makes the best sliders that can double as a decent step? Some look closer to the body or higher up than others.

Anyone here looking for some bolt ons? Have a set of CBI Offroad sliders for an AC/DCSB for sale. They are powder coated, were never mounted, and have the hardware for them. They don't have a kickout. I decided to go another route. I'm going to make a thread for them.

sliders make terrible steps, people hate climbing in and out of the truck because of them. MOST sliders are the same due to the amount of clearance they need to clear swinging doors

Demello's square tube Rock Crushers are great steps. I ran a set on my '01, loved how they looked and worked, and my wife loved the step aspect.

The downside: I ordered a set for my '15 and have been waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting. I ordered (and paid) on April 22 with a promise that they'd ship in 2 weeks. It's been 9 weeks now and I've got nothing but $600 of credit card bill. I keep getting promises of shipment tracking info but no emails. @Tiff@DeMello @JDEMELLO can you please help?
