id be very careful with n-fab im pretty sure they bolt to the cab not the frame, therefore will cause more damage than good if used as a slider

I could be wrong, maybe they offer a bolt on to the frame, but everything from N-fab ive seen is bolt to the cab

I couldn't find mounting instructions on their site. I sent an email to ask. If they mount on the cab I really don't see how they can claim that the optional steps have a weight rating of 465 lbs.

I don't believe the bottom of the cab can support that much.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
This^ they do bolt to the body and are not a true rock slider. You can cause major body damage using these as rock sliders. N-fab caters to the mall crawlers and most of them would never touch their "sliders" on a rock let alone even take the truck off road.

When looking for a set of sliders look for three things
    1. how it mounts
    2. material used & wall thickness
    3. options and customization

and if the weight rating is only 465 lbs than its not mounted to the frame i can tell you that,

my warning for the day pay proper money for a well known vendor on the site and buy ACTUAL sliders, hell even if you want them as steps i know a vendor here who was asked but the angle down instead of up

Edit : jerry chimed in ;)

I don't want them, I just spent over 4000$ on my truck, I'm broke anyway :D

I just noticed they weren't in the list on the first post.

Not putting non-sliders on a list of sliders.................kinda makes sense :)

I searched TW and it seems that you're right, they bolt on the cab.

I've been drooling over these for a while now, but haven't been able to find any pics on the tacoma. Does anyone have these Stubbs Rubicons on their tacoma? I'd love to see it and hear how you like it.

How does powder coating hold up on sliders? I would think that rocks kicked up from the front tires would ding up the powder coating in no time. Actually scraping them on rocks would be another issue.

Does just painting them work better since you can touch-up the paint repeatedly?

What should I order, bare or powder coated?

I have these, Famous Fabrication super solid and are bolt-on sliders. Not an extreme offroader but can tell you that they have been tested by me and work great! No welding is the key plus very capable of some abuse. Hope I helped, good luck. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/famous-fabrication/188597-famous-fabrication-rock-sliders.html
