Sliders - Bolt on or Weld ?

    I've had bolt on sliders on the last three rigs I've owned, I might have unbolted them from the FJ to repaint twice, but after that I just repainted them on the rig with card board as a barrier to keep over spray off the paint.
    I'm thinking of having the sliders welded on the Tacoma since this is the 1st Toyota that didn't have captured nuts in the frame for the sliders.

    Pros & Cons welded them or bolt them on?

    Im wondering about the same thing. How sturdy are they for Hi lifts?

    I just painted my weld on sliders with a paint brush. Much easier than spraying them like i did the first time.

    I used rustoleum hammered finish paint so there are no brush marks, just the "hammered texture". I would have never thought they would turn out this nice using a brush. I just knew i didn't want to deal with spray paint again.

Armor- custom tube bumper, kr fab rear bumper,trail gear wiy 78 in sliders Performance-intake manifold spacer, vibrant resonator Random stuff- kenwood head unit,b&m t shifter, hood bug deflector.
    Well if you plan on keeping your truck then weld it and if you plan on selling them bolt on

    trd sport with avid off road light bar, avid rock sliders. OEM roof rack, 12' LED light bar, and Sock monkey decals.
    weld on ones are sturdier, they can handle heavier weights.

    Bolt on's are mainly for look with some functionality.
    I personally have bolt on's, but they have worked fine off and on road, along with my jack

    If you live in the Salt region, go bolt on, allows you to remove them and clean easier. Helps prevent rust. Welding them exposes bare metal and can lead to rust.

    Ive never been fond of drilling holes in my frame so I went with weld on version.

    you dont need to drill holes for bolt on???

    If you plan to do more than just your mild off-roading, get them welded. Otherwise bolting them on is fine.

    Mine are welded on so touch-ups are a PITA.
