So ever since my first wheeling trip late last year I was getting a "bang" just about every time the left rear wheel went over a drop off of more than about 6". I chalked it up to a bad bushing on a rear shock and kinda ignored it. Fast forward to yesterday - installed brand new shocks so that ruled out the bushing.

I crawled around under my truck and noticed paint rubbed off from my cab hitting my sliders on one side. Interesting bit is that the passenger side has about a 3/8" gap between the pinch weld and the sliders and the drivers side was only 1/4".

So i loosened everything up and put 2 washers between the slider and the bottom of the frame to space it down about 1/4" (gap even between both sides now). Does anyone else have a better suggestion? I've seen a few guys cut or bend the pinch weld but since I already put the spacers in I have a good enough gap now I think...

What brand are your sliders? Some mention grinding of the pinch weld may be necessary for adequate clearance.

I made myself a pair of sliders and welded them on. The driver side is about 1/8 closer to the pinch weld than the passenger side. I noticed the noise right away when hitting any decent size bump. If I would have known the truck flexes so much I would have put them 1/4" lower.
