FYI for those with sliders in the winter… they are apparently good at collecting slush build up, even with mudflaps.

I haven’t had this block the door from opening yet. I also wouldn’t be surprised if it gets to that point with the right combination of slush and temp drop over a long drive.

Never had a problem with the doors not opening, and definitely have had much more build up of snow than the photo. A good bed liner with texture could be a solution if you're worried about slipping. I think I've only slipped on mine once in the 4 years of sliders (self painted bed liner sliders).

I just swipe my foot over it to clear it off, use a snow brush or my hand. No biggee.

Ya that's a good way to add more slip.

Kind of visible on the top side is the adhesive strip of rough slip resistant tape. Works great in the winter and seems to be holding up. Only draw back is it’s easy to scrap up your leg in shorts on a lazy hop out.

Never had the door blocked either, even after charging through deeper snow at -4.

More important to clear the grille area if you have a plate bumper. Otherwise it can overheat the engine.

I kick off the offending slush when I park.

I don't have sliders but my HDX steps collect snow when parked.

Isn’t that like half the reason of getting sliders?

Maybe if you've just got a street truck I guess. I don't wanna get my pants, shoes, whatever else all nasty on em and quite frankly the door sill is maybe 3" higher and much cleaner, if your sliders aren't tucked up they're rock catchers. I just step over em

Me. Senior with lots of stiffness, aches and pains from sports injuries in my youth. A step is a must to get into my Taco.

Not tryna brow beat you but, if someone spends $900 and adds 150 pounds for something they don’t use as a step, not to mention you have to step OVER them making it harder to get in your truck, you’re kinda bit of a masochist lol. In my mind sliders are just steps that don’t fold IF you hit a large enough rock

You ain't gonna offend me I don't really care how you use em. I sure wouldn't spend $900 on sliders, and I wouldn't buy ones that weigh 150 pounds either. Mine are 80lbs and cost $300, welded right on, notched the cab pinch to fit em even closer. I don't need a step to get in and out of my truck, I have them there to protect the body and not hang me up on objects. They become another piece of crap in the way as far as I'm concerned if they hang low. Again, it's a difference of how the truck is used, a lot of you newer truck guys don't have daily drivers or maybe demanding family members. My truck is for wheeling trips and camping, maybe a trip around town for fun sometimes haha.

Ah, you have the style that runs right underneath the cab, okay. When you look at caliraised sliders for example they come out a good bit, so imaging stepping over that seems like it would be a bitch

They only poke about as much as my tires, not hard to step over, but I'm 6'2" and mostly legs so YMMV there.

I didn't take a pic of my own, but this is a good picture of my buddy's truck from the same trip to show why you might not want to step on the sliders sometimes...
