I got the kickouts for the added protection. If i cant fit between something my slider will tell me not a crunch on the body. Plus tight corners the slider can push you off a little bit and save you from damage. Also its always nice to have a step when getting into the bed or stacking/taking stuff out.

    I have relentless fab sliders.

This topic has been debated to death in the past so I'm not trying to rehash that.

Just wondering why anyone would make their truck wider than it is or wider than their tires stick out?

Seems like it would cause me to get hung up more often then I already do and that's already to much.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I think it really has to do what where your wheeling. For the west coast rock crawling having the kick just a little past your rear tire helps pivot the truck around corners. I've seen it countless times guys eating the rear wheel on a rock or having to take another line. And guys with the kick out pivoted right around it taking the same line.

Gotcha. Think we had this exact conversation year or two ago on the same topic. Maybe now it will sink in my thick head.

for me its because some of the trails where I go are super tight, so I would rather have the slider to push me off a tree rather than my fender or bedside taking the hit. Also, again longer truck kinda kills the turning radius, so atleast with the estra wide slider, if I take something too tight it may help take some of the hit. Im not the best driver, so atleast while im working on it, I got a bit of leeway :p

    this ^..

my first set of sliders were Demello hybrid's. awesome sliders and very strong but i kept tagging my rear lower bedsides before the tire trying to pivot around rocks, boulders, shopping carts etc etc... traded those in for for a set of AllPro's with the kickouts and havnt had that kind of damage happen again.

My Avids have the kickout, but those BAMF ones look pretty good too.

Thanks to everyone for the input!!! I ended up buying a set of demello straight sliders from another member on the forum very close to home. the price was right so they will do the job for now. i have not made rocker contact with an object yet, but def had a few close calls. having something there is better than nothing. seems that all the good companies are on the west coast, shipping is a bitch!!
