I went with weld on because I don’t see the point (for me) in ever taking them off.

I got mine from 4X Innovations. They don’t come ready to weld to the truck though. You have to weld the legs, base plates, and gussets together, then weld them to the truck.

Point taken. But while I was asking, I even asked what all the "triangulation" talk meant on their website, because that is their reasoning they are saying they have the best engineered design, and that part of the chat was skipped over and not answered. Just thought I would share.

Are you satisfied with the purchase? Do you wish you had spent a little more and got the plug and play mobtowns?

I saw that, but it doesn't go into installation and it's not a customer review.

I’m completely satisfied and don’t regret my decision at all. I like doing most of the work myself when I can. If I had access to a tubing bender, I would’ve built them myself.
Mobtown, BAMF, and tons of other vendors here make excellent sliders and the bolt on option makes it quick and easy.
For the price, it made sense for me to just buy these from 4X.
They’ve been used for their intended purpose and have held up fine.

The reason I'm asking is that mobtowns are $120 more, but they are ready to weld on. No assembly so to speak.

Bolt on sliders can increase rust and corrosion to the frame and be almost a better candidate for voiding a warranty than weld on sliders.

Unless you remove them regularly and clean up the mounting plates and frame.

Yes you still have to monitor either mounting solution and address accordingly, but having to remove the sliders annually would get old.

Does it matter that it's not a customer review? They're literally demonstrating what the sliders do on a drop test onto a large rock. I have the 4x sliders. They're great. Stronger and lighter than bolt ons and I only paid 280 shipped. I've nailed rocks and trees with them and my cab is still great and no damage to the sliders.

I’d say it might be worth spending the extra money to get Mobtown weld on sliders if you aren’t worried about the lead time. Also depends whether or not you feel like doing some assembly.

When I ordered from 4X, the sliders arrived at my house 4 days later. Mobtown website says 12+ weeks.

If they inhibit rust and corrosion how would they void the warranty?

I pretty much said the same thing in another thread yesterday. It's also a weird design to bolt to the frame and body. Since the body is designed to move relative to the frame, I'm not sure what the implications are of essentially locking out the body mounts.

I like your sliders a lot. Is your advice to go with your weld ons or bolt ons? I'm getting sliders with a kickout and the fill plates because my wife wants to use them as a step.

Functionally they are the same. It really just comes down to how much not having to weld on your frame is worth to you.

What angle did you set the sliders at?
